it is a keep poor scheme, because the nutrition value of high tech foods are half of naturally grown food.
so you have to eat double to get the nutrition match as original. Their main objective here is to increase yield profit.

Doesn't this kind of farming cause the plants immune system to decline and weaken? Isn't there studies showing this could lead to a "super infection" in a similar way that hospital environments breed "super bugs".

The Netherlands is not the second largest food exporter , it is the second largest food REEXPORTER. The port of Rotterdam imports huge amounts of food and reexports it into the EU

EVERY grocery store throws out TONS of food every year due to waste. La Tomatina is a festival in Spain where people throw tomatoes at each other. Don't tell me that we don't grow enough food..........we WASTE it.

What BS about how much land we'd need to feed everyone! We produce PLENTY of food but so much of it goes to waste. Make the delivery more efficient.

isn't it controversial: if we proceed making such a progress in this field, would all people that are a part of a food industry now loose their jobs in the future? I mean this is not going to happen overnight but still.. So many ppl in my country rely on food producing companies as a source of stability in terms of job and consuming. Ofc some of those ppl who have agreeable education can become a part of a scientific field, but what about others?
Pls let me know what do you think about this topic 🙏

Then, let me ask you, how do people have money to buy food? If all jobs are taken by the machines?

Increase productivity? That's good

Increase efficiency & reduce costs? that's good too

But we also have to consider the balance of life between humans, nature, & technology, not just prioritizing profit

How sustainable is it to heat a greenhouse in northern Europe to be able to produce tropical fruits like tomatoes? Also, some complete BS with the numbers he uses for coffee. There are many different systems to grow coffee, some that require no water to grow besides rain and no water for processing. Complete BS just looking at what benefits him.

Coffee requires no water. The plants get wet when it rains and that's all. You do not live on the moon as he just suggested. He is one of the people that said we would be eating each other the population reached seven. Instead we have rampant type 2 diabetes all the human species

In 1960 My weekly reader said the population was 4 billion humans. It also said when the population reach 7000000000 we would be eating each other to stay alive. Now that we have reached 8 billion man kinds biggest problem is type 2 diabetes. The scientist of the 1960s we're almost criminal in prediction. And I cannot help but think this was by design. There is never been a shortage of food there has always been a shortage of money to buy the food.

Why are there pests (moths) inside the greenhouse ? Shouldn't growing plants indoor ideally mean to get rid of pests and other unmitigated factors ?

Im Spanish, im crying, our people can´t do nothing, our politicians are stupid, and evil, they are destroying our farming, we are more poor every day, my family is from Jaen, they live from olive oil production, they put solar panels, but water, it,s a disaster. All Spanish farming will disappear. We need help.

Ive heard that when the global fertility rate drops from 2.3 (current) to 2.1 the world will population will decline rapidly. If thats correct... is this just saying that we'll have a few decades of high demand before it begins to rapidly fall off? If thats the case would a focus on efficiency, modifying diet to exclude high waste food sources, and finding more ways to increase output from the same area make more sense... im only 1 min into the video so hopefully this is about to all be answered

It sounds amazing fighting against global food crisis.

This is the tip of the ice burg, it will evolve and someone will make it better and improve. This is a great start. I have to give props where it is due and they are doing it, that is the most important step, taking action to gain experience to improve upon the knowledge learned and sharing it others can take it beyond just making money.

They do the same with animal mass production not only greenhouses. The same logic is behind it and it is not biologically and ecologically speaking without trouble! And of course it is better to sell the technology because then you have control over the food without growing it which is fare more lucrative. For political and economic reasons food production and food prices need to be actually cheaper then their value, which is why old Egypt and Rome had slaves and why farming is often associated with poverty and fighting over cents while the supermarkets, chemical and technological companies / management make the big money. Pretty much like in a feudal system. So while the technology definitely is great and needs a lot of (atomic) Energy to save life on earth it has to become more ecological.

Well the NL tomatoes evaporated water is released less into the atmosphere, the same could be archived by greenhouses in Spain, although the air humidity is greater in the coastal north and evaporation lower there. Hydroponic Tomatoes rely on fossil minerals, so its unsustainable. Evaporated water is not always automatically wasted water, contaminated water however is. If planted at the right location a crop needs no additional water at all. So from this example it is easy to see that such a comparison is not easy to draw just like that. High-tech obviously leads to more efficiency tough. By the way, for me the best part about green house tomatoes is the easy use of biological pest control and thus often lesser pesticide usage.

People will start to cooperate and grow their vegetables.
The planet could sistain over 100 bilion people!!!! Do your own resarch.

If you want to help learn people how to plant their own food!

They speack about water like something finit but is about how INDUSTRI use water not individual people!!!

The land and water is enough for all o us!!!
Just start a map and you will see.

Do not go for the lie just make your reserch and work to your independence and this will decrease industry and you save water and soil and species...
