Flying a confederate flag (battle flag or otherwise) doesn’t automatically make you racist. But it does automatically make you look stupid.
ОтветитьThis is like a german flying a nazi flag because they are proud of their german heritage lol
ОтветитьThe confederacy lasted for 4 years and got their asses kicked lol. Not something to be proud of
ОтветитьCivilian historian here, the flag we know as the Confederate Flag is actually a battle flag of northern Virginia's army. The version we know was first used in 1948 by Dixiecrats, a spinoff of the original Democratic Party that opposed FDR's mote inclusive take on the party's policies of the time
ОтветитьThe idea that the stars and bars are offensive today is largely unfounded and most people dont even know why they think it's wrong. If you actually are down in places like Mississippi Black people rep the flag as well. It is a geographical representation of being from the south which has its own cultural identity
ОтветитьThe black soldier was very aware. Its just no one gave a shit until social media pressed it so hard. The best picture that sums it up was taken back in like 2018. Theres a black guy with a cowboy hat holding a confederate flag standing off against a white guy holding a BLM sign. Welcome to the world we live in
ОтветитьThat’s not even a Confederate Flag.
The Confederate Congress rejected that Flag in 1861.
Wow we have traitors among our soldiers? That’s concerning
ОтветитьThats not the confederate flag, thats a battle flag used by a division in the confederate army
ОтветитьI googled it and it said the flag was banned in 2020 because well (you know what)
Personally Kinda weird the flag is now a ''heritage'' ''White supremacy'' flag rather than what it was in the 1860's
The traitor flag
The confederate flag is a symbol of racism. Plain and simple
ОтветитьThats not the rebel flag. The rebel flag is the flag know as "the stars and bars" the flag you saw was a confederate battle flag.
ОтветитьLeave our history alone sir
ОтветитьThe black guy got the address wrong 💀
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure that picture of Jesus on the flag at the start was the moscovy flag
ОтветитьIt is unfortunate that the history of this country is such that the meaning behind the Rebel flag has been whitewashed to mean “southern pride”. I love the south but we’ve got such better history than some racists who wanted to build a nation “on the fundamental truth that the negro is inferior to the white man and slavery is his natural and moral state.” -Alexander Stephenson VP of the Confederacy
For goodness sake we had Washington and Jefferson and scores of others. We have flags that represent freedom but we choose the one that represents bondage.
That flag doesn't mean slavery there's other things that flag means like southern pride or what there heritage was
ОтветитьAs an avid Sherman enjoyer, all I see is a burning flag
ОтветитьIsn't that the Confederate battle flag
ОтветитьIt just means anti-British rule the Union slaughtered native Americans And only wealthy British lords own plantations/cooperations in the South
ОтветитьThe flag just means the south. Thats it. Anything else added to the meaning is by people not from the south
ОтветитьImagine the enemy seeing this flag and confusing that with another country
ОтветитьWhat is up with the south and the number 4? If 5 was a holy number then what 6 mean to the military. All these stars and stripes.
ОтветитьThe south lives on🤠🤠
Ответитьyes it has ties to the confederacy, but most of all it was a battle flag with emphasis on 'BATTLE' it was there for all of those BATTLES for that reason. anyone that knows US history, and in no way am i commending the horrible actions of the confederacy during THOSE TIMES. simply giving context.
ОтветитьId say in my experience its more common for soldiers to fly there unit flags more than any third party flags but i did have a couple people in my company who where given authorization to wear the puerto rican flag above the unit patch.
Ответитьwhat are they proud of exactly? of their heritage which is Kiev?
ОтветитьMy father has the same thing as the jesus flag there
ОтветитьThe confederate flag was more of a independence flag then a raciast flag that why we still fly it in the south
ОтветитьNot anymore but deployments are a different thing from garrison military. It’s kinda like a “if you’re unit is cool with it” kinda thing vs in garrison(non deployed/stateside) you would get fried nowadays
ОтветитьThe confederacy lasted 5 years, I don’t understand how a battle flag in use for 5 years became integral to southern culture
ОтветитьThat is just a battle flag the real confederate looks different than that
ОтветитьThing is is the confederate flag that you say is a battle flag
ОтветитьIt represents my / our proud culture
ОтветитьFortnite has lasted longer than the Confederacy.
ОтветитьNot anymore. They even changed the names of military bases. So sad
ОтветитьI'm a marime, and for anyone who don't know the marines where in the confederacy I love my flag but the corps banned it afew years back
ОтветитьAs a active duty army infantryman. I have not seen a Confederate flag anywhere during my 4 years of service.
If i did.
Being from the North, if i saw one of my bud flying a Confederate flag, id ask if he really wants to get his dixie ass kicked a 2nd time.
The confederate flags were still southern state flags at that time but today all confederate flags been banned from being a state flag or national flag
Ответить🤘🏽southern pride! 🤘🏽 doesn’t matter if your black or white
ОтветитьBlack People owned slaves and so did Native Americans and they also fought for the Confederate Army, in fact the last General to surrender for the Confederate Army was Native. Nothing about that flag is racist.
ОтветитьI'm a descendent of Southern Soldiers who fought for Southern independence. Part of my family were Choctaw natives and served to repel the Lincolnites. I'm a US Army veteran and Roman Catholic. Incidentally my parish priest is black. The Battle Flag was never a racist flag. Racists used it, and The US flag as well as our Lord's Cross in disrespectful ways.
Props to my Southern Brothers in Arms. All of Gods Children.
The The flag does not symbolize slavery.
ОтветитьSoutherners have been carrying battle flags into every war America has fought since the War to Prevent Southern Independence. Nothing new. Sadly, the Woke bastards have demonized this noble symbol of Southern martial valor for cheap political talking points. Screw them.
ОтветитьThe South Will Rise Again
ОтветитьF*ck all separatists. Starting with "Artsakh' that is about to get disbanded 😂
ОтветитьDixie lives on!!!
ОтветитьFrom iraq and during the invasion they were way friendlier than the other american
ОтветитьIt is a flag that was flown during the Civil War here in America. Its a shame that an actual American flag can take on false meanings.
Ответить
