I appreciate you. Thank you for this. I wouldn't have even thought about this!
ОтветитьSkins and it’s consequences have been a disaster for the gaming scene.
ОтветитьFPS that is in any way realistic like a war game should have shadows etc. because that is how you would hide in real life too.
Snipers for instance stand back in a room and not out in the open, if you want TF2 you get cartoony fun and I dont knock it, but if you claim "FPS games should work like X" you are wrong.
It all depends on what the theme is, is it cartoony and comical or is it more serious?
What annoys me is the lack of strict physics rules.
A human being cannot jump a foot or more straight up 10 times in a row, you can't sprint forever etc.
So TF2 is great I always loved it, but it's not a serious FPS
I just need FPS games that aren't competitive and enjoyably broken
Ответитьjust get better at the game
ОтветитьAnd then there's the old saying...
Git gud.
I have an idea for my first person arena shooter and the player models will be red and blue so theres no distractions
ОтветитьIt's jsut me, or some video games feel like they take place during the morning but it's midday?
ОтветитьThere was a point in Warzone 1 where a special black clothed skin for an operator was considered to be pay to win. In some places you were totally invisible and it felt so dumb that i stopped playing.
Ответитьoh no this guy killed me because my vision is bad, this game sucsk :D
like
Halo had red vs blue so that helps a lot to spot ur enemies. By the way, I completely agree with ur opinion. I just think that maybe halo could’ve been at least metioned, although it isn’t very popular now a days sadly.😅
ОтветитьYou are right every time I play a new shooter no matter the type its extremely hard for me to spot enemies even if they are in my obvious line of sight. The beginning always sucks until you know the game in and out and can see small differences pretty fast.
ОтветитьThis. And also move telegraphing. It is so bad design when you have 0.1 second to react to enemy, while character need 0.3 second for dodge or block attack.
ОтветитьI love how TF2 is always clear while being a damn mess with cartoon characters running so freaking fast everywhere, constant explosions and fire, silly HUD... Because the designers used colors and designed maps in an intelligent way. They were not just thinking "ahah futuristic armor guy" and "ahah futuristic wall and floor"
TF2 was made by ultimate giga chads and big brains, it really is the ultimate fun FPS and one of the best games ever.
But please these bots needs to stop
in battleifld they gave soilders red and green tags so you know who is who
ОтветитьIt's funny that tf2 is probably the most competitive game in the world and yet Noone plays it like that
ОтветитьI have always Despised Tf2 for the bland visuals, and idiots wearing orange in a shooter, they aren't hunting deer rofl. You can achieve completive visibility without making traffic cones.
ОтветитьHm I don't agree with you here. As some say and you also, it heavily depends on the game as desired product by the Devs and the subjective definition of the player. If we think about old cs 1.6, easy visibility and even there tweaking started (cfg commands and so on). The tweaking is probably simply part of the competitive scene, to improve even the smallest bits of own performance for the win. And even if that goes then beyond the visibility in terms of better gear, lower inputlag etc. So, if you say yourself it is about the game etc. Why demand then it should happen in more games? If it is subjective. Sure a game needs a general visibility/readability but up to it's own demand. Warzone, battlefield, cod, hunt, tarkov, r6 etc .... All highly competitive, beloved and way less clear in visibility. Cause as you said, people accepted and want this to be part of becoming a pro, training your eye and awareness.
ОтветитьA fix for a non-existant problem in gaming. That's why this video starts with "When i first start playing..." Because after 10 seconds your eyes adjust, your brain learns the models, and you can see everyone clearly, even in the dark rooms. Tf2 spends heaps of time and money working to accomplish something pointless in any game that doesn't have teams. They also took away grenades completely... which was the highlight of the game for me back in tfc. So it's pretty obvious that TF2 is in the dirt because 1) they can't manage resources well 2) they think gameplay has to be simple to be fun. Sad story.
Ответитьother gaems come and go, tf2 is here 2 stay
remove random crits
BattleBit
ОтветитьGarbaj: talks about color
Me: * is colorblind *
The only way to fix this "realistic" issue is by having monitor with smoother refresh rate but that does count as pay to win.
Which is why most "pro" gamers made huge kill count because they already have the proper equipment.
I just learn to have better awareness in the game.
ОтветитьGames like Cod should just go back to uniformed skins. Kinda rediculous to be playing as Soap, and to be killed by Soap.
Ответить"Why U don play the way I like?!"
Sure
Don't you worry none, even CoD now have clownesque skins
Me, I prefer to stay low, move slow and wear ghillie.
Agree. Valorant and Splitgate have the colored outline shaders that in my opinion are so awesome. shooters should be about aim movement and recoil control, not map knowledge and visibility. I just find that it's more fun that way
ОтветитьI thought this same thing while playing apex in 2019
ОтветитьRIP TF2, too good for this world
ОтветитьI’m glad you mentioned how overwatch helps you spot enemies. Its a small thing I always appreciated about overwatch
Ответить"After 9 years in development, hopefully it will be worth the wait"
It sure was Gabe, It sure was
iirk the colour green is the most visible because it's of a higher frequency, while red is surprisingly rather low on the spectrum but I think it ties in better with our instincts. Very interesting proposition.
ОтветитьAgree so hard with this. People who have to like work and stuff don't have time to hone every possible skill required for every game. Good visibility removes a massive barrier of entry.
Ответитьwow you must be such a sweat
ОтветитьWhen you started talking about enemy visibility, I knew you'd bring up TF2. It's just so good at visual clarity.
Ответитьwhy would they make games better when braindead sh1ts still preorder every pile of garbage they get delivered?
ОтветитьI can’t see the other red
ОтветитьVideo did not feel like 5 minutes.
ОтветитьYeah but I don’t respect pro players
ОтветитьThere needs to at least be some tweaking of specifically opponents at certain distances. Nothing drastic, but enough to balance gameplay and graphics
ОтветитьCall of duty: Mobile has actual glowing lights in the shoulders of the player models, red in colour. That shit glows, so sitting in a shadow is actually impossible.
Added benefit, in lower end devices, the lights render to a larger distance than the player model.
I hear you. But I think the 'issue' is mostly there for people who are a little colour blind. For Fps shooters without much long range spotting, there is no need for colourful characters to spot the outline
Ответитьthats why i love tf2
Ответитьwell put! I find that games that focus on accessibility (and/or options) are actually just making better core gameplay elements.
ОтветитьSiege has rim lighting that really helps with visibility
ОтветитьSo other players will press another buttons in the settings... We can talk about how to make games more competitive but many people play certain games just because they like how do they look instead of caring about any competition potential at all
ОтветитьJust sounds like a skill issue bro, git gud.
