Mamre title deed handover

Minister Gugile Nkwinti handed over title deeds in Mamre of 4200 hectares of farming land from the State to the community of Western Cape on 24 September 2013. The unique handover transferred rural land under the Transformation of Certain Rural Areas Act (TRANCRAA) that ensured that the rural coloured community of Mamre becomes the first in the country to own rural land previously held in trust by the ministry
