Before You Buy Any 40 Series GPU

Just upgraded finaly from my 1070. Went with the Asus Tuff 4070 for $599 and LOVE it!

So he is personally paying for three months of my subscription out of his own pocket. That is what "on me" means. For some reason I just don't think he really is. There is this little voice in my head that says that he is actually being paid for me to subscribe to the password manager. Wow, have I really become jaded. Suspisious of such an honest person offering to cover the cost of 3 whole months from his own pocket.

I just built a new pc and i upgraded from an RX480 (yes I know but I was only playing csgo😂) and I’m really happy with the 4060ti, plays all my games exceptionally well and can now delve into bigger and better games on ultra and still keep insanely good frames!

4060 and 4060 ti are great for vanlife tbh. The 4060ti build that im going to make only draws 300w at max, so like mostly under 200. A regular 4060 full desktop build draws like laptop power amounts. Tbh if you can see that the 4060 cards are meant for efficiency, and as an upgrade for people who use 1080p, they're really like the best cards in the 40 series.

You won't find comparable cards with those power draws.

i love how these videos are always structured as if i buy a new gpu every time a new one comes out, and i am watching this video to see if upgrading is even worth it. but in reality i have a 1070, and i am STRUGGLING to run anything at the moment

Right now, best bang for your buck is a 4070!

Skip the 40 series , but if you need a gpu now the 3070 is probably the best overall price/performance card right now (new) or if you find a good offer or have the money grab the 3080 becouse for the future it will be your best investment ever

Walked into Best Buy on Saturday to get a GPU upgrade for Christmas. Took one look at the Nvidia selection(and the prices) and walked out with an AMD GPU instead, as a life-long Nvidia fan. Hate to say it, but AMD has Nvidia beat into the GROUND with their budget selection. Nvidia needs to step up their game big-time. There's no comparison in the sub-350-dollar range to the AMD GPUs.

I want to buy 4060ti 8gb (version)

The crypto miners is to blame for graphics card inflation.. and these companies saw how much people are willing to pay back then but now there's less mining but they still remember how much some folks are willing to spend. Its your money and you'll spend it how you like but $2k for the card only don't seem worth it even if you could afford it

Welp, I'm happy I got the 4080 now. I've had nothing but laptops, and I'm starting my first desktop build. Decided to go all in, but the availability of the 4090 at its 1600 price point was non-existant. I was willing, but not $2,000+ willing. I was tempted to go AMD but decided to stick with nvidia.

The 4080 and 4090 are far more superior for editing and rendering videos and worth it for creators

I haven't bought a single Nvidia GPU since they conned me into buying a complete piece of shit 8800 GS which they had rebranded to a 9600 GSO.

I hope they enjoyed that $50, because I'll never give them a single cent again. I've spent thousands on AMD GPUs since (Dell Studio 15 laptop with a Radeon 5450, then I built a desktop with a Radeon HD 7970Ghz Ed, upgraded to a RX580 8GB, then a Vega 64, and my current desktop card is a Radeon 6900XT. My current laptop is an Strix G15 AMD Advantage Ed with a 6800M GPU.

Also, I never understood the popularity of the 1060 when the RX580 8GB had better performance and was $30 cheaper than the 1060. People just wanted to pay more for less because of the halo effect coming from the 1080ti.

40 series cards blows every card out of the water. Frame generation and ray tracing smacks every other card on the market.

Ran a 1070 since 2016, in 2023 it really started to show its age with gaming, 3d modeling and cam software. Made the switch to 4070ti with an i9-14900KF Processor. I couldnt justify the price gap of the 4080 and figured the i9 processor paired with the 4070ti should be a solid setup with little to no bottleneck on cpu.

Bought a 4070 within a week of release, only because my previous card (2080 Super) died. It was the best I could afford. Otherwise, would have waited for the 50 series.

If you want a 4060 ti there is nothing else to buy because the 3070 is still 8 gb and it’s also 530$

I ordered a gaming PC with a 4070. I personally think its one of the best price to performance out of the 40 series.

I feel like you made me rethink my ideal approach on the 40 series now after me getting the ROG Strix RTX 4060 Ti 16Gb ED OC over my RTX 2080 Ti considering the variant P2P difference I'd have in my games. With that said, I think you should do another video when and after the newer Super, Ti & Super Ti's come in the near future of this posting to further go if Nvidia fixed their mistakes. I got an Asus Rog Strix 4060TI 16gb, it runs ice-cold...dead-silent...ultra settings...AND sips the power...did I overpay?...you bet, do I regret it?...absolutely NOT.

4090 is the only next gen card, and I can prove it with game engines. Your card is shit and your bias. I still rock the 1080 mainly because I have the Zotac 19DA 0426 which clocked in at #1 of 1080's in the world so 4070-Ti only has truly 98% better performance but I mean can you really tell the difference between 240 and 480 frames when your screen refresh rate is only 240

I honestly wish I didn’t get traumatized from AMD driver problems. It really seems AMD is the better price for performance. I started my pc with AMD gpu and had to clear and reinstall drivers every single time I powered on my PC. Then I installed an Nvidia card, thought I did something wrong because there wasn’t a single issue 😂 felt like it was too good to be true

A 4060Ti costs about as much as a 1080ti for only 30% more performance 6 years later, pathetic. This is what happens 100% of the time when a corporation has a monopoly, they just keep jacking the price until sales start to slow. Hopefully one day we will have some regulations around any company to remain a benefit to the public.

I think you people are all confused about those video cards! WHY WOULD ANYBODY EXCHANGE A 3000 series card for a4000???? what do you people worry about the frame rates??? nobody can see the difference between 25 fps and 60 fps! for me its about the picture quality! I played everything so far with almost maxed out settings with a gtx970 fps dropping seldom down to under 20! Now I got a 4060 and the graphic quality is amazing even though they cut this card short on everything else yet DLSS 3 and the 4n chip brings an amazing increase with 100 watt consumption! win win! EXCEPT FOR THE RAM!!! SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 12 GIG!
