Do you spray your almonds with copper before the budding season? I haven't had a crop on mine for 3 yrs so I sprayed once before the rains came and hope it will help. I think they might have shot-hole.
ОтветитьToe/finger nails, hair, pet hair, pet nails... makes the compost more fungal.
ОтветитьMy peach is blooming too. It's a Florida Prince peach. That and my Anna apple are the earliest. Things start moving for me end of Jan. beginning of Feb. for the rest of my trees. Nice vid. I'll stick to the liquid fish emulsion I think lol
ОтветитьThank you for extending the live stream to the Max!
It was fun to listen and the chat from folks world wide was interesting.
You certainly know your zones!
I add lime on top of attractive compost ingredients.
So cool.
ОтветитьThose worms were certainly fast-acting. ☺ I surround the area with red chili pepper scraps (keeps away the unwanted beings). I add hair and weeds. It. No worms available, but desert beetles have been a great benefit to me!
ОтветитьI use whole tree branches in my compost
ОтветитьAsh and gypsum, equal parts, work very well for odors also, and will boost roots and foliage a lot.
ОтветитьI raise ducks and geese. I've had a problem with bobcats killing my birds. When that happens, I have buried the birds and planted a fruit tree or shrub over the bird. So far, nothing has dug up any of them. The plants seem to do exceptionally well when they are planted over a duck or a goose.
I also go a great deal of "chop and drop" of plants like comfrey and horseradish, as well as any weeds that won't re-root. The noxious ones, like thistle go into "compost tea". Brambles and things that root easily go onto a corner of my parking pad to dry over concrete.
I've always been skeptical of burying meat products in my garden for fear of attracting rats and other unwelcomed critters.
I'll give it a try after watching your video. Thanks!
My old family used fish burry in the grown like u for over 150 years the put mango wax apples lemon grapefruits trees on top
Ooh dear tree blooming and bare fruits even off season ...thank you reminding me how.
I do a lot of fishing and I bury fish waste in my garden as soon as the garden thaws in the spring till it freezes up in late fall. The garden is absolutely loaded with worms and is prolific on produce that comes out of it.
ОтветитьMy husband crushes up out of date oysters that are no longer safe to eat and adds them to our compost. It seems to be a pretty big job due to the oyster shells being somewhat thick. The worms seem to love it! We will see if the plants do...
ОтветитьMy dad has always had the best tomato plants in the community. Why? He has a resort and when guests clean fish, the remains are wrapped in newspaper and buried in the area that will later become his tomato garden. Works like a charm!
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьCAn I eat the compost?
ОтветитьI breed snakes and sometimes the eggs aren't fertilized by the male, I buried the unfertilized egg in the ground before i planted one of my tomato plant. That little plant is growing so good.
Ответитьthx
ОтветитьCan sardines be buried in compost?
ОтветитьI add Guanabana AKA Soursop leaves to everything.
ОтветитьLulu might do it as a sport, but I don't think he is interested.😀
ОтветитьI'm thinking of doing this but I will cover first the fish with Mollasses. Its like FAA but kind of compost. It will be half a year before that happens but I have full idea
ОтветитьI pour a couple cans of coke on it and mix
ОтветитьI pour a two bottles of cheap cola soda in my compost
ОтветитьI make fish hydrolysate because it's easier to keep it safe
ОтветитьThnks
ОтветитьIf you chop the fish into small pieces it will compost faster and better. I know some people wouldn't like doing that but I've found it to work better.
ОтветитьSir
I am from India. First of all thanks for making such detail. Vedio & we will love to know the results at end of season.
I have two questions related to tbis & request you if u can guide.
First approch can be to bury fish right under your plant which u have demonstrated, second approch can be dig a whole somewhere in garden as deep as posssible & put all fish waste followed by soil, Cofee or littke bit of salt etc etc. Open the hole down the line of 6 months & ideally fish should get fully decompose.& eventually become part of soil & apply this soil as a ammendment to each of your fruit bearing tree so when u water the plant that fish particles will percolate & will go to roots.
Now this second method can be safe as your doing this decomposition activity away from plants so no risk of digging near the trees by cats or rats & Plants can also get good soil. But do you think that decomposition of fish right under the plant by your approch will bring more benifit comapred second approch because most of decompoation occurs away from actual fruit bearing tree or plant we want to benifit?
Also usnjng fish as a fertluzer will only help incrrasing fruit size or will it improve fruit sweetness/ taste also?
Sorry for my long essey.... Like to see more & more such vedios.❤ Thanks once again.
