That's sick! Don't have an electric but I'd probably go Les Paul Custom but that V is a flying fun revelation.
ОтветитьWow, in 1958 that was at least 3 months rent. Buying one was not easy! Thanks, that was great! I'll get over to Norms some day...
ОтветитьMy toxic side willing to pay asking price for that white marshal
ОтветитьIs the towel in the case with the V to wipe up the drool ?...oh baby what a beauty ! Thanks Peoples
ОтветитьThe best interviews!!
ОтветитьWhat's the guitar worth now?
ОтветитьJoe is just great. So is Norm! Happy to watch this
ОтветитьYou can tell the job does wear joe out but still manages thats the passion inside burning strong love it thank you for being such a fantastic social presence norm you bring so much to light throughout all these videos including the older ones with Mark when he was working at the shop!
ОтветитьWhite blues, boring. Do you like Joe though
ОтветитьI am Uncle Chip, from Mississip!
ОтветитьNorm is the one that Sold EDWARD VAN HALEN his First two highly valuable/collectible Les Paul's.
A sweet '59 Burst and a 58 Burst. There are pics of EVH playing the 58 on stage back in 1980.
I am assuming his son Wolfgang now is the owner after the sad passing of the legend.
ED also owned and played a 58 V like the one joe has here. He used it on "Hot for teacher" , "Girl gone bad"and "Drop dead legs"
as well as "on top of the world"
Joe the best guy in the business … and a real guitarrist guitarrist
ОтветитьWhen I was 16 In 1973 in Brisbane Australia, I could have(should have)bought a 1958 Gibson flying V for $350 (australian $ )at the Fender dealer store , (Fords pianos in Woollangaba),but instead chose a Fender L series Stratocaster for $200 as I thought the V was uncool but I played it as tester through a hand made Leo Fender G&L 100 watt stack, it played and sounded amazing but I just didnt like the shape ,also the gold plating on the metal V was oxidising and the plastic tulip tuning keys looked old 😢but consequentialy 12 months later I went window shopping at a different store in Brisbane (the Gibson dealer in Paddington),and the owner (John Richards)offered to swap my Stratocaster for a brand new 1974 tobacco sunburst Gibson Les Paul standard reissue ,which I still have.
Ответитьi have decided to publicly burn my gibson flying v ff 1982
ОтветитьNorm is like that grandfather that always tells the same stories over and over. Been watching a lot of these videos the last few days and I've heard Norm tell that playing a vintage guitar in the rain story like 10 times already.😂
ОтветитьGreat show 👏
ОтветитьGents, to much talk let the instrument speak.....
ОтветитьI.m curious ast why Joe has so many guitars that don't even leave their homes.
Ответитьwhat's the genre of the song ur playing in this demo
ОтветитьEvery time I see a 'V' one name immediately comes to mind . . . Lonnie Mack.
ОтветитьI love these guys
ОтветитьNorm has such great stock 😊
ОтветитьJoe is an amazing player and an amazing collector. Would love to see a whole tour of his collection. Guitars, amps, pedals, and all the other goods!
ОтветитьAmazing guitars
Good vibes
👌👊
Really liked the part about how Joe kept playing in the mist to give his audience their money's worth (so long as he didn't get zapped!). I actually had a similar experience, you guys would laugh - - The only time I ever had a gig a partner and I got through an agent. My so-called partner never made it clear to me exactly what role I was to play. He just wanted to keep me in the background without any thought for what I could contribute to the whole of it. The gig was at a university. It was a special evening, we had been billed, the whole 9 yards. While on stage I realized the people had paid good money for some entertainment and I didn't want to let them down. I backed him up for a couple of tunes then it was starting to get boring. I had an opportunity to have more of an exchange with the audience, so I improvised a little instead of just hanging in the background. I was trying to work with him and have a little fun with both him and the audience, but he did not like it. I honestly didn't mean anything badly, was just trying to give the audience their money's worth. The audience loved it! But not my partner. Oh well - lol! Looking back now I still laugh. I know the audience at that gig still does, too, and no one regrets having paid too much for a lackluster evening.
ОтветитьOk, I’ve been arguing with myself about getting one. Now I have to get one. A new one of course.
ОтветитьOh Norm must be on Joe’s Mom’s side of the family. How cool is that?
ОтветитьI'd buy that for a $1.00!!
Ответитьgosh, Driver music okc. I remember that place from when I was a kid in the 90s
ОтветитьSpeaking of how Joe Bonamassa is as a person.... My wife and I saw him at the Ryman last year. Well into the show, a great show, he needed a sip, so signaled for a drink. One of the crew took him a diet coke, he opened it and took a sip, then put the cap back on it and sat it down. Sometime later, he wanted another sip. When he reached for the bottle sitting on the riser behind him, he knocked it over, so that when he did get it and loosened the cap, it sprayed him down. He wiped his coat and guitar with his towel, and continued the show. After the show and after the bows, everyone was leaving the stage.Joe walked over to the riser, picked up his towel and cleaned up the coke from the riser and the stage.... I told my wife "this really speaks to what kind of person Joe Bonamassa really is"... I still think about that everytime I see some "star" with their entitled "better than you" attitude....thank you Joe Bonamassa..
ОтветитьThose things are interesting. But not what I would want, or buy.
ОтветитьIve got one just like that in my loft. My uncle left it to me, are they worth much
ОтветитьLost one in the city of Boston Ma in an equipment truck break-in 1984 or so. Also taken was a vintage cherry sunburst Les Paul. Both heartbreaking losses.
ОтветитьYou haven’t aged a bit norm you look damn good for your age
ОтветитьAlbert King…..
ОтветитьCan he be my uncle Norm, too?
ОтветитьStill sounds like a Gibson to my ear. (I'm a Strat lover)
ОтветитьThere’s a collector on the Central Coast of California who has one. Played it in 1992 when I visited him doing a news-feature story on “collecting.” Dude had lots of signed specimens, too but I knew the V was the tits.
(And then there was the chick with the 300 Barbies…lol)

Here on YT I really enjoy watching Joe come into Norms and talking shop then I put the cherry on the top and then watch him jam at the Baked Potato. Really raw, firey stuff. Best ever!
ОтветитьAwsome Geetar love a V.🤘
ОтветитьLove it had a 76 explorer remake. Never see a modern, but played a 52 gold top.
ОтветитьFascinating And Very Entertaining Thank You Joe and Norman.
Ответитьi think more doctors lawyers and dentists own these thing than players do. if you want one go to japan.
ОтветитьI was at a private party here in Houston years ago where Johnny Johnson was playing. He had just re-recorded a bunch of songs he had written to play with Chuck Berry. He recorded them sell as his own. Dave Masala and Bill Peek also recorded and played at this party. Bill Peek had a 1966 flying V that was all original and it was gorgeous. So yall know, Peek was on the Hotlegs album playing for Rod Stewart. He and Masala had also played with chuck berry as his band.
ОтветитьI love how Joe seems like such a dork...and then he starts playing and singing.
ОтветитьJoe rocks! Thanks Joe, 'n Uncle Norm, :)
Ответитьgreat joe
