Tape echo / delay, Multi-Head Tape delay FX are my favourite types of guitar delay pedals, the overall character and rhythmic delay patterns you can achieve for me is fantastic and can be so creative and can give amazing character, colour, warmth, depth to guitar parts that can wonderful in a mix.
I’ve got various delay pedals and picked up a used AKAI Headrush E1 for £40 in the UK a couple of years ago, a bargain and has added lots to many of my recordings, not just on guitar but also vocals, synths and drums, creatively it can add so much more dimension to a part and your mix if you work with whatever gear you’ve got available.
Nice one for your review of the Headrush.
Great overview
ОтветитьI’ve used this as a mixing board effects send unit during mixing with the 4 heads returning into 4 separate channels all panned to different stereo locations and achieved some great stereo delay spacial effects.
ОтветитьThe head gap is precisely that. The gap between heads. With a short delay time and a long gap, the second delay of the first head catches up with the first delay of the second head. Hence the jumping level. It’s easier to hear with long delay times and smaller gaps. You’ll hear the separate heads shortly after each other and the second delays after all the heads have finished their first delays.
ОтветитьCool review. I’m pretty sure the guitarist for Don Caballero used one of these.
ОтветитьThanks for taking the time to do this.
ОтветитьThanks
