Hi! I was in Iceland from 13.-19 of August. We had no rain!The clouds and sunshine alternated. Akureyri & Seydisfjardarhöfn, Reykjavik. (a cruise with Aidaluna) we made inland excursion: It IS breathtaking, beautiful and stunning. It is just amazing what nature does. We passed the volcano near Grindavik from the ship and saw the lava from afar. In Reykjavik we saw the smoke from that volcano. It was exciting. I surely will come back to this outstanding Island!❤️❤️😍😍

Gilfy, until your camera pans to the extreme left where we see the steam rising from the ground, I would swear I was looking at a magnificent painting of this amazing piece of geology. I can see why this video holds such a special place in your heart. It's wonderful that it's not a tourist destination. Just wondering though, do you think any Icelandic elves live there? 😉😉😉

I find the geological and seismic activity of Iceland endlessly fascinating. The eruptions come, and earthquake activity subsides. The eruptions end, and activity seems to increase as the uplifting continues. There will always be something interesting going on.

Any insight into a possible Hekla eruption? The Geology Hub channel posted a video saying that a local stream near Hekla has stopped running which is often a precursor to an eruption.

I had to watch this twice to see Katla at the beginning of the video. I couldn't see it because I was thinking too small! When I played it a second time, there it was - so huge in the background that somehow I didn't notice it!

My gosh, this is a stunning pan shot, Gylfi. I can't think of another word that adequately describes the incredibly beautiful vastness of the scenery unfolding before the viewer's eyes in this video.
