Van Nuys rallies around 'flower grandma' after cops are called on vendor

Word is those flower venders in the tent called the police on her.

Isn't the United States wonderful ? Anybody can move here and just set up a flower stand or a food truck on somebody elses' land, pay no rent or business taxes, and compete with business who are. And when one of them gets the police called on them the rest all jump in to try and prevent them from doing their job. Isn't the United States wonderful ? It is as long as you weren't actually born here.

She has to go and get a license for road flower business. America is a land of law not a lawless country. The law office is right doing his job.

The officers are doing exactly what the city and the people of the city tasked them to do. It was also the people of the city that called the officers on this vendor. If you truly are concerned for this vendor, then help her get a license and go legit instead of virtue signaling so you can feel like a hero.

She's blocking the public right of way. She doesn't want a license because then she'd have to follow the City's vending rules which don't allow sidewalk vending right at a corner like she's doing.

They manage to loose hundreds of suspects but can attack an 88 yr old lady selling flowers and a business owner trying to protect her wow Lapd is a joke at times

It wasnt a big deal. The ones that were actually blocking The Brooklyn Bridge was an issue. You got to pick and choose which ones are a legit danger or inconvenience. Alos, those people have every right to record. Its public and they were @ a distance.

This was a valid call for the LAPD to show up but not when your house is being robbed.

so who decides which vendors get to occupy which blocks? I see the same vendors on the same block everyday. What if I I decide to show up at that location before the other vendor one day and setup my own taco stand? Will I be confronted. Do they own that block?
