I remember seeing this car featuring the second transformers film, it was a terrible film, but the scene this car was in was very nice.

Unfortunately, this car played a villain and it was sliced in half.

Does it suffer from the same chain tensioner problem considering it's the same V8 engine?

I don't care if it's a "super car" or not; they are great to drive. Had mine for over 8 years and I still get excited when I approach it with key in hand. They are not cheap to run however.

Why is this gearbox one of the best? Because of the feeling and sensation or also because of quality and durability?

Couldn't do with the gearbox clicking alll the time changing gear

I think it's a super sports car, which is even better than a supercar, because of the manual. Without it though, it's just a supercar.

Prices are practically half in the UK compared to the US, but got one anyway lol. Its a super car to me, though I do second guess if I should have gone V10 or not.

I don't see the point between calling it a supercar or sportscar. At the end of the day, it's all about how the car would make its driver feel good or look good. Its a waste of energy and time re-directing the viewers choosing how to call the car. Why focus on things that are unimportant? He could have slotted in more positive things about the car rather than pointing out the debate between calling it a supercar or sportscar.

For me, it's hands down one of the best cars that has ever been made and I don't care if it's old. it was engineered brilliantly and superbly elevating audi by becoming its halo car back in the mid 2000's. The looks, the feel, the noise. it's just one of those brilliantly engineered cars that has an enduring effect over the years that makes you miss its magic.

What colour code is this?

No just a high end sports car..I had the v10plus 14 plate and wouldn't call that a supercar just higher end again

I got exactly this model in black, this was always my absolute favorite car and still is, especially in black with the original silver or black wheels the car looks like it came out today.

Does to this Day. The interior is classic but welcoming. The driving experience amazingly cool for that kinda sport car but this V8 engine is not powerful enough for the R8 to be dubbed a supercar. The V10 probably is 😉

I've always had a love of the original V8 R8. Simple, clean and it's aged finer than most wines. BuT tHe V10 Is FaStEr - that's not the point. You're not comparing a V6 Mustang to a GT, this is far above that level. This is a car to enjoy having a civilized supercar.

Hands down a Super car and a classic at that! One of the best R8 videos I have seen....great camera work and commentary. Love the color combo. I own a manual V8 myself :)

The V10 is a supercar, the V8 is a sportscar. - That's where I draw the line on the R8 in my opinion.

Looks? Probably. Power and speed? Not so much, 0-60 is terribly similar to a 3.0 mk5 supra, no one’s calling that a supercar. But I honestly dgaf, this car is special on its own driving it is just.. awesome to say the least. A very purist no bullshit sportscar.

This is all you need, it was after this era that hp got ridiculous and became no fun..........

IMO, the R8 is of course a super car but not by much. My buddy had the V8 while I had the V10. The V10 definitely made it more a supercar rather than the V8. The V8 just didn’t have that super car throw you back in the seat feel. As good as the R8 is, now that I have a Lambo I can definitely see and feel the difference of a real super car/exotic….

I picked up an 08 gated manual last year and it's a blast overall. the first and only 2 modifications I did was adding a titanium straight pipe exhaust for a much better sound and converted it to rwd. much better driving experience now.

Absolutely, a useful, sensible SUPER-car!

Quite honestly, it doesn't matter if it's a supercar or a sports car. It's a gorgeous, wonderfully engineered machine with a beautiful gearbox.
