Can you imagine a more complicated lock that has to be picked this many times to get it off?
Ответитьits like trying to stall until your teammate respawns
ОтветитьLet's just do that 10 more times to make sure that it was not a fluke.
ОтветитьOkay, that's four, but why not make it 12? Perhaps even leave out parts of the pin every other position?
ОтветитьI wanna see McNally go nuts on this
Ответитьlol trying to annoy the criminal into giving up
ОтветитьLPL opened the device only once. Sure it's a fluke 😂😂.
Ответитьif this had security pins, even LPL would say "fuck this" and just unbolt the trailer coupler and just replace it with a $15 coupler from harbor freight. extremely disappointing that this can be raked!
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьI'd love to see this relocking feature on a hitch pin lock.
Bicycle racks don't come cheap.
You could hit that lock once with a heavy hammer and it would be in several pieces.
ОтветитьI'm sure you're familiar with the technique of Reverse picking when it comes to wafer locks, how would that match up against this lock?
ОтветитьFINALLY
A GOOD LOCK
Looks like a missed opportunity to demonstrate a plug turner in action!
ОтветитьWith a very good cylinder and 20 turns, this would be a great deterrent.
Ответитьyeah, bought an old bar top game locked with a four pin cylinder lock and this sort of locking shank... gave up and drilled it out, im looking into getting a suitable replacement that still has its key
ОтветитьYou can generally tell how good the locks are by how long the video is lol
ОтветитьJust a little tidbit, it’s pronounced Burr-Jen NY :)
Ответитьwow, that looks tedious
Ответитьmore lock companies should do this. If this have an even half decent core, it would be pretty good.
ОтветитьImagine how much harder if they used even a marginally better key way
ОтветитьI feel like the fact that it didn't open after raking it a few times, the picker will just assume this is not working and leave. They wouldn't have the background of knowing that the lock has to be picked so many times
ОтветитьJust 1 security pin would have made it immune to raking/jiggling. That would have made it a real pain in the ass to pick. Nice idea.
ОтветитьWould it be possible to hand pick re lock it?

Wouldn’t mind seeing several brands of trailer ball hitch locks. The ones that prevent your ball hitch from being stolen. Usually a straight pin with key hole on the side
ОтветитьIf they made it just a little better, even some of the more advanced wafer designs, it could be good. If only, although that thing is positively tiny for a trailer coupler lock anyway, so it doesn’t matter. They will just grind it off in a couple seconds.
ОтветитьIt’s because it’s spelled with a C
ОтветитьImagine if it was like a good disk detainer core.
ОтветитьThis actually makes me feel better about this. I use this one in combination with a hitch/ball lock over the top on my boat trailer. The fact it took him/an expert a few minutes. And that i have an additional lock over the top for extra protection. With keys it’s actually kind of pain to get off for me. I also use a wheel lock too which I’ve seen him go through it like paper, but, maybe with layers of protection. That helps? Inono.
ОтветитьCould you get one of those spinners to do it faster
ОтветитьOddly enough I can see a lot of people going to pick this, thinking they got it open, only for it to "get stuck" or "jam" and think they fucked up, and maybe panic and bail, not realizing that the thing just locks over and over...
Even on the offhand chance, they give it another shot, without relocking it back all the way on themselves, when it happens a third time, they're probably going to think there's something wrong and perhaps give up.
IF they get past THAT, then they'd probably catch on to just keep doing it...
At that point it's going to be them quietly getting annoyed everytime it locks again, another *seven times*...
I can actually see this being more psychologically effective than even a single simple but potent lock.
Imagine lock with at least few security pins and this kind of system.
ОтветитьI would say most thieves out there don't have that level of knowledge about locks. After the first relock they would be quite confused, none of them will expect relocking lock
ОтветитьWouldn't a core spinner allow you to skip a few turns without the core relocking?
ОтветитьPerhaps if they used a minimal amount of scurity pins this could be a nice deterrent, just of how tedious it would be to unlock
ОтветитьHi! Couldn't this system be applied to a more quality lock to achieve a really nice theft deterrent?
ОтветитьSo, theoretically....
the best lock is a complex lock pins that locks itself every quarter turn, which needs to be turned >1 time?
The font made me think you had to pick this 77 times, which would be rather impressive.
ОтветитьOn the topic of quantity adding quality - a few years ago I left my old bike parked outside a train station over Christmas, locked with 2 standard, cheap, identical bicycle locks (with steel wire). When I came back the wires of one lock were obviously chewed through with pliers, but the second one was untouched. So the thought of having to go through the experience of cutting it again probably deterred the thief enough that he left my bike alone :D
ОтветитьImagine if it was a decent pickproof lock with that massive turn requirement.
ОтветитьAnd Warframe players talk smack about how making vaults with a five minute delay before opening is stupid
ОтветитьNow should Squire add ( rotate many times ) to Squire Stronghold ss100cs
Ответитьmaker of this lock played too many video games where your lockpick breaks every 10 attempts.
ОтветитьI have that lock and it takes me longer to open it with the damned key. Bloody magician over there making me look bad.
ОтветитьWould this lock be unpickable if there was a mechanism that pulled it back in and started you over every time you broke tension?
ОтветитьThe longer the video, the better or worse the lock. If its so awful there's an hour long video of exploits then it seems like a great lock on the surface until you see its worse than a broken carabinier.
ОтветитьCan't tell if he recommends this or not...
Ответитьi misread the thumbsnail and thought it said the lock was picked 77 times for one open! XD
ОтветитьIf they now make it harder to insert the key/pick .... lol
