Killing a Chelicerate Leviathan using the Grappling Arm - Subnutica Below Zero

I'm so terrified of the leviathans that I have to go & just let myself get attacked by each one to just get it over with lol

I may have cheated to beat this...

I was close to killing it, but this fucker dragged me all the way into dead zone and i had to abort. Im not loosing my hardcore world.

Maybe they patched it. Or maybe it's a bug for me. But i just drilled one of those for the better part of 15 minutes. Never went into flight mode and finally crunched me to death.

wouldn't it be easir/faster with torpedos ?

my first try to kill this fucker ended in total disaster. used the grappling arm and drilled his ass relatively well, with him ocasionaly turning and munching the prawn. suddently, the bastard went full speed in a straight line, and unknowingly i was carried to the dead zone, where 2 of his big brothers proceeded to destroy my prawn and me in short order

Man, killing the void leviathan was easier. I've tried several times, but the Chelicerate keeps 180ing me and attacking my prawn

I don't think it works anymore. I've done the same thing and spent around 15 mins killing him but nothing happened and he kept biting me, causing me to get off and have to repair

How do you so consistently stick to the Cheliserate with the grappling arm? When I do it I feel like I can't stick to it at all when it starts swimming away and am constantly at range. Idk if it's different now in the game or I'm doing something wrong with my grappling arm controls lol.
Also, I was trying to kill the cheliserate in East Arctic which is near the world edge and the Cheliserate ended up pulling me into the void lol. I signed up for killing one Cheliserate, not killing that + 3 Void Cheliserate on top xD

Edit: Also I saw you replying to someone else asking the same thing that this can't be done on console so thought I'd add that I'm on PC.

I don’t know why but I have all the upgrades I need and the thing keeps going up and past it’s spawn point and it makes it difficult cause it keeps going up to the surface

Why is my chelicerate going up instead of down every time I attack? It’s difficult

I can never stay grappled onto it for some reason, any ideas?

Unfortunely i cant manage the drill and grapling gun at the same time

Another way to kill things is to ram them hard with your seatruck, it doesn’t do much damage to the truck but it hurt them a lot

Cool idea, but is it worth it? I mean: do they remain dead or respawn after a while?

I tried but couldn't sense it would keep going to fast and I couldn't hit him enough so he kept damaging me.

Does the drill or normal arm do more damage?

tried this method with Chelicerate swimming near purple vents. Unfortunately, he got really scared so he flew all the way to the starting point, where drop pod and my base are located. He stood there and roamed around so I had no other choice as chase him with sea truck and ram it to death.
