Ronny reminds me of a friend I knew in the fourth grade. To everyone else, he was shy, extremely intelligent and nearsighted. But when we were alone, his cynical side would emerge and he was hilarious.

Kimmel seemed to be one of not many night show hosts that gets him and appreciated his satire. Colbert didn't, and didn't even try which was quite painful to watch despite Ronny putting a lot of effort to entertain.

For those of you who don't know, his surname (family name), Chieng literally means MONEY in Mandarin. So I guess that's another reason he was so suited for his role in Crazy Rich Asians. 🤣🤣

Saw Ronny when he was just starting up as a comedian at one of the small side venues at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. He was absolutely hilairious and hammering everyone in the 6 rows that you were just trying to hide from him - we all felt sorry for the people who were smashed for being late. About 70% of his show was just smashing people and everyone had so much fun. He has moved into being more focused on prepared material although hopefully in future he does go back to his ad hoc type style - it showed how intelligent, witty and funny he could be on the spot.

when i hear singapore i remember going there and i actually felt i went 50 years in the future. it's so modern. or maybe i just came from Europe. everything is kinda behind here
