There are so many nuts that don't fit this supposed perfect ratio of omegas. Same with the phytic acid. I'd take the hint, just enjoy the ones you love and do well on, with common sense on moderation and variety (among real, nature-made foods). Also, you recently pointed out that raspberries have something that helps us better digest carbs (really good info there). But wouldn't it be common sense that there would be aspects of other foods that do a similar kinda thing (not just raspberries only doing this cool thing to help us better digest/use foods). That is, something in one food that may help counter the phytic acid and other supposed (or actual) "bad" things in foods. Sorry, but it just seems goofy, the idea that nature would provide this bounty of delicious and otherwise healthy foods that we'd be better off not eating. What? More likely that our man-made and otherwise screwed-with foods are the real problem. Not to mention depending solely on science-y stuff in lieu of also trusting our own, er, "gut."

Sorry but didn't like this video. I realise it is from a keto perspective but nuts offer more, or less, on so many other health benefits based on fats, vitamins and micro nutrients. Pecan is like natures multivitamin for example. If you eat alot of good fish, then look at nuts for other nutrients rather than the omega 3 and 6 ratio. Men should eat Pecans, Walnuts, Brazil and Macadamia, though Ms calories are very high. I see nuts more like natures vitamin pills than anything else and consume nuts as a dose. It's the health spectrum that's the benefit.

Just soak your nuts if you're that afraid of phytic acid. You're welcome.
Just buy deffated nuts flours and you don't need to be afraid of fatty acid content.

The best nut is all of them, with the key being focused on the amount and constantly varying the type. Naturally, raw is better than wearing a rain coat but sometimes you crave a variety.

Roast your tiny salad/fish nuts with 1 helping tablespoon garlic butter and top protein salad. Toss thy salad.

Nuts are also great for digestive health, keeping you regular. Easy in, easy out. If you sit down and eat a 24 ounce steak.. graduations You’ve got the meat sweats and gains a pound and a half.

You drop the kids off at the pool, all 24 of em off next mornin, because you bussin by the dozen— you’re back even with tons of energy.

Plus, variety nuts helped raise your HDL, the good cholesterol… so when you go to the doctor they won’t get pissy with you for being at a significant greater risk of progressive heart disease— Throw thots not clots.

I think it is important ppl know that the walnuts you buy in the store and the ones he is referring to are English walnuts. Almost all produced walnuts are English walnuts. Almost all wild walnuts, in the u.s.a anyway, are back walnuts. What's the difference? Black walnuts are thicker shelled, more robust in flavor and more robust in all the healthy compounds by a significant margin. Most notable and the reason I'm writing this is the omega 6:3 ratio of these walnuts are way better than the English walnut everyone goes by. There is almost double the omega 3 in black compared to English walnuts and there is 25% less omega 6 which incredibly Improves that ratio.
If you don't believe me or want more info go download the paper written by the International Journal of Food Properties called "A Review on the Potential Human Health Benefits of the Black Walnut: A Comparison with the English Walnuts and Other Tree Nuts"
Ik, long title but what do you expect from scientists
Also, there is another study on walnuts, prolly using the inferior English walnut even, that shows it actually has a positive effect on omega 6:3 ratio and lowers it in animals. The name of that study should you want to Google and read some of it or it's conclusion it is called "Walnut Consumption Induces Tissue-Specific Omega-6/Omega-3 Decrease in High-Fructose-Fed Wistar Rats"

Old video, but I'd like to note that the Omega 3:6 ratio is specifically important when talking about the enzyme that converts ALA to DHA and EPA. It is irrelevant when comparing it to actual DHA and EPA from fish or algae, which is already converted and does not need to be elongated. So when trying to maintain a healthy ratio of Omega 3s to Omega 6s, specifically focus on the ALA Omega 3s (flax seed, hemp, etc) to your Omega 6 intake (generally accepted ratio is 4:1, but some conditions may advocate for a lower ratio of 2-3:1 if you need additional anti-inflammatory effect.)

Is it better to have raw nuts than cooked, even dry roasted? Cooking the nuts "destroys" the good enzymes or such, is that true?
