The underrated Pathfinder grapple technique: Slide Grapple

This is huge for me cos im not that fast of a looter so my teammates usually are far away from me but this could look like i could get to them easily

It seems doable on console

Pulling your grapple out severely decresease speed, and it is a good movement technique to stop if you need accuracy. That's by pressing q again, maybe looking around breaks it without a speed decease

Also you don't need to go backwards to do this, going backwards just increase speed and distance. It's unnecessary if your enemy is close

this isnt a slide grapple its a slingshot

Do I have to hold courch while in the air? or is there a time point where I can release to fly further

using the first one jump soiding backwords makes this possible in console

Or Slinggrapple.

i have to do the tap strafe one because my scroll up and down is ( move foward , jump ) on both so it makes it hard to do the first one unless i use spacebar which isnt comfy for me but learning this changed the game.... im addicted to pathy now

I did this unintentionally on my first week of playing apex in arenas. Covered about 1/3 of the map with one grapple and tap strafe sliding lmaoo

Curious if you can compare this to a grapple in which you just jump and get the extra boost. Like how much distance you’re actually gaining

I've used this for ages, I didn't know it was that popular but often when I want to dupe ppl I would slide and then spin around and grapple over them, I always called it slingshot grappling since it looks like ur extending paths grapple like a piece of rubber

Still think slingshots are better tho bec of the height u get more air control and its rapid rather than slide grappling wich takes more time less air control and on the ground for the first 1.5 seconds could mean life or death bec that grapple will take a long time to replenish... this is also why I dont see clips of these being used in game bec the sling is more effective putting you off the ground immediately after the grapple touches something... just remember to jump lol

For those wondering: the slide grapple doesn’t actually make you go farther (I think I remember mokey or skurul say it iirc). Just straighter and grapple with less height, so it’s useful in places with a low ceiling like tunnels. Have fun :D

I actually figured this out myself this week lmao I figured it out while messing around in firing range and I juked the hell out of my friend but just tap strafing and then hitting that grapple and realized how I just fucking flew, so I have been practicing it alot this week lmao.

As a path main i do this all the time but for some reason on console it just doesn't take u as far and u can't tap strafe
And yes I've tried it on a pc it does in fact take u further and faster for some reason

@Gruic i know it as a preloaded grapple, you can get the same result by falling down before grappling up etc means if you move quickly in the oppossite way of your grapple destination the zip kinda stretches like rubber :) thats the mechanic which lets you do the insane grapples with crypto drone and trident cars!
