"getting a cooler" - a cooler you dont want to use cuz they are basically trash lol unless you want to overheat within a year ofcourse,

for 150 euro extra on the 3900xt, going to 4,60ghz from 4,20ghz on ALL CORES is a big + and 4,70 single core isnt bad either.

the clever ppl buy a 3900xt over the 3900 really... for the small extra cash you get an insane all core boost, simple

these benchmark have been proven to be fake. even tomhardware backed up on that and an editing was made on the article calling it fake. i cant believe even pros are falling for fake benchmark without even looking;. for the case of the 3600xt it was a 3600 overclocked used in the benchmark. things like that can hurt AMD even if its not true and as a consumer you dont want that

Paul, you forget, most people were paying more for even less improvements over each release on the intel side until recently. If youre looking for processors I dont see why you wouldnt get these xt processors if you wait a bit for the prices to stabilise and get em relatively cheap

I don't understand all the hate for xt, its nice to have something that you don't have to over clock and have high clock speeds..

Sure, my 2700x runs at 4.2ghz - but is it stable? No. Will it last? Probably no. Does the performance degrade - fuck yeah..

Reset they added more to their line up well keeping prices the same or discounting across the board plus these most likely will get the price drop treatment when next gen zen comes out it's still a win for AMD customers!

Moore's law is long gone. We are down at 7 nm now. Maybe in 3+ years we will be at 5 mn. Some experts say that 3 nm is as low as we can go (Atom physics).
The logic gate computing should within 10 years hit "the wall". (though the manufactures will try to prolong that as much as possble) That is also why they have been slowing down. They just can't advance as they used to, and the manufactures still wanna sell (more) than they used to. Marketing now replacing technology innovation.
We have actually been close to "the wall" it for 10 years already. Sure the CPU have developed somewhat. But IPC less than twice the improvement during the last decade.
Real Next Step is New computing topology. But for now it is easier/cheaper to marketing "new products" of the same old tech, to be another breakthrough in tech development ;)
The step now, is just putting more cores into the CPU die (in reality they can just make the
dies bigger with many more cores, but that is not really innovation, just optimizing what you already have developed).

20 years before: 1999>>2000. K6 III 450 Mhz >> Athlon 1.2 GHz =250%(ish) extra performance.
2019 >> 2020 Ryzen 3000X >> Ryzen 3000XT Same CPU@100 Mhz extra coreclocks = 2,5%(ish) extra performance.
Get the 3000X NOW(while you still can) and save money (or wait for the next new architecture).

If someone is building a new system why not go with theses? Same price as the others when they released but better chip so why not.

sounds like you're just on the side of whatever is cheaper, Intel wins at single core performance / single thread clock speed even on their ancient architecture and honestly I hope nobody is silly enough to pair a 3900x with a £100 motherboard. It deserves better, don't cheap out on one of the key parts of the system

I dont understand it either. $335 for i7-10700, but $70-$80 more for the K variant. $615 for the i9-10900K, it's crazy price gouging and it seems there are plenty of idiots willing to be taken. It's heartbreaking to see the lack of self control.

a bit of a rant here you got going on but the 3900x on amazon's pricing was by a third party seller I believe. It's selling for £439.97 atm through them or you can get it for just over £400 by Scan UK but without the cooler. Personally interested in the 3900xt over the 3900x if it does provide even closer frame rates to the 10th gen intel cpus, back in 2011 the case for my prebuilt became discontinued and in that window intel released the 2700k which I chose over the current champ 2600k and it's lasted me up to now, even if the gains are small, if the price jump isn't substantial and I'm going to hold onto the cpu for a long time then I may make the jump to XT

Who believes its worth addional 50 -70 Dollar for 100 - 200 Mhz more with a slightly better bined Die can buy it , for me the 3900x is enough , its at 409 Euro now ( with wraith Prism Cooler.. )
Do you remember the Time , only 3 Years ago ? Intel 7700K Quad Core for only 439 Euro ... and its still above 400 Euro ... (new ) , its laughable ...
I have a pretty High End System now with my 3900x at my Asus B450 Gaming -F , it has a nearly unique Feature for B450 Boards , it can split the 16 Graphic Card Lanes into 8x 4x 4x
I use a NVME Raid 0 ( 960 EVO , 970 EVO ) both 4 PCIe 3.0 Lanes and a 10 Gig Ethernet Card , 4 PCIe 3.0 Lanes , my RX56 ( 269 Euro , + 2 Games ) has only 8 x 3.0 Lanes , but thats enough .
My attached FreeNAS is my old Asus B350 Prime+ with my old 1700x ( downclocked ) + 8 used 2 TB Server HDDs ( 30 Euro each ) , an NAS did not need a Grahics Card , in the 16 x Slot is instead a 10 Gig Ethernet Card . Its pretty fast 500-700 MB /sec = Sata SSD Speed with big Files , small Files are way slower of course .
The 10 gig SFP+ Eternet cards were cheap over ebay = 20 USD each , i bought a switch too , a Microtik CSS326 ( new ) for 130 Euro with two 10 Gig SFP+ Ports and 24 one Gig Ports

I do disagree with your take on the pricing of the the 3900XT. Yes, AMD did pull a sly one by resetting it's MSRP. However, lets be fair, the 3900x was only really selling at full MSRP $499 for the first month or two, then settled at $420. $420 for 12 cores, extremely reasonable.

However, the new 3900XT, 5% higher single-threaded performance; the metric which Ryzen has been lacking. Now AMD is even closer to Intel's single-threaded performance. Overall, 5% faster single-thread for a 14% price increase. You are getting a processor which is a jack of all trades.

While this price hike is avaricious and certainly doesn't make sense for everybody, this is in my opinion a fair margin for a bleeding edge jack of all trades.

Love the videos, always watching.

The reason Intel don't drop prices is it keeps value of the products so you get a better investment and a better return on it and when you are limited to cpu and boards on Intel its harder to replace cpu if you needed to unlike am4 if you needed a new cpu you just drop one in. Amd investment for resale is very bad

It's a faster, better binned CPU at the same price as the original release. AMD still needs the money.

Don't upgrade unless you've got a first gen but they're not bad CPUs.

I just hope they ramp up production so the prices will drop. I've been waiting, had a couple of deals run across my plate but I didn't pounce quick enough.
