Look more like kickboxing than any traditional karate. Traditional karate is doesn’t really work and mma is just Muay Thai rebranded

It's ridiculous how perfect Thompson KOs are. The thing is, he doesn't kick hard, he kicks accurately. You can see it with some of his opponents, Thompson will land a clean kick, then they just eat it. Thompson isn't cracking skulls, he's rattling their brain into pudding, but when Thompson misses, it looks like it just hurts a bit, leaves a little bruise. Not shit talking, it's just rare to see someone who's so accurate.

the new generation start to catching up, but I doubt there is somebody can really best him in pure striking at the moment.

The best pound for pound fighter I've ever seen.

Its so funny seeing more traditional martial arts becoming effective again. In early MMA the only traditional arts that were effective are the big 3 jujutsu, kickboxing and wrestling ( yes they are traditional arts with long history). When you combine them you get a conventional well rounded modern MMA fighter which is awesome. But then some guys started finding ways to fit their boxing, karate, TKD and even Judo into the modern MMA dust up. Fighters with these traditional backgrounds who also adapt well to MMA style training and fighting become very dangerous because they understand modern conventions, but also have that ability to go "off road" by tossing in some of their traditional style. No stand alone style works by itself anymore, but having a specialty along with the rest of the abilities needed for MMA, thats a tough fighter right there.
