Great course

With my Midi keyboard connected and track is armed - when i press Midi on ableton, the drum pads in the drum rack are not highlighted for some reason. Other parameters in the drum rack are highlighted though. So, I cannot seem to map any of the ableton drum pads to my MIDI.

Wonderful instruction video. I will have to watch it at least another twenty times. I really just wanted the Keyboard to play notes through the computer and record it. I was with you until you started talking about fades and cuts and such and then all I was asking myself was if this had something to do with music and remembering back to my music theory classes? I will have to go take more tutorials to figure out how to connect my keyboard/piano to the system and play notes and record it.

I am using an mpc2000xl as my slave. I have my korg triton midi’d to the mpc but i want to be able to play the sounds from ableton from the triton but i notice that Korg Triton is not found under the control surface. Should it just be blank and it will stil trigger the vst from ableton to my triton keyboard?

Easier said than done. The MPK225 is NOT in the list. Plus in the audio input device it ONLY has microphone input. NOT a fan so far.

I have recently purchased an Akai MPK225 and still learning my way around ableton.
Anyone have any idea how I can separate instruments when assigning to pads and keys?
I drop a drum kit to the main section of Ableton and I can hear the drums on the pads. Good there.
Then, I drop piano sound to main area as well to create another MIDI track and my pads automatically turn into piano notes as well.
Confusing.
Any help appreciated.

Please tell me how to get the beat pads to work WITH the piano at the same time. When I have the beats on it has the beats on the beat pads and keys, and if I switch to piano it plays the piano on the beats and keys..... I can figure out how to do both at the same time.....Please help
