Ok, what if I have several events on one track that I want to bounce (with inserts) onto a different channel/track?
I do not want to export/import, I just want to bounce those events. It seems dumb to have it so that you can bounce/render in place but not be able to choose a destination track.
Just trying to understand because I have watched so many videos so far covering bouncing/rendering and none cover what I am trying to do or need.
I want to do this to save CPU because of the layering I want to do. And I know it will kill most computers (mine included) when I am finished if I do not bounce it down.
Good Tips Dom.
Ответитьvery useful. Thanks sir!
ОтветитьRender in place (not specifying a name but asking it to use the existing name on a locked track) does not work in Cubase 12.0.70 My rendered track is named "Stereo Out (R)" under that circumstance which is clearly a bug in Cubase.
ОтветитьThanks for your Videos, would you mind describe about How to set up output audio and route it coorectly setting ,because I have many problem about it,sometimes I don't have sounds in media Bay,and sometimes my metronome doesn't have any sounds.
ОтветитьDoes Cubase AI have "Render In Place?" I can't fins the feature. I only have Freeze
ОтветитьAwesome. A slightly deeper question about how Cubase handles the whole signal path option in render in place.... Let's say there complicated processing on the master bus, where the channel(s) or events that you're rendering are interacting in some way with the entire mix.... Like with some sort of dynamic EQ plugin or similar processing.... Does it take all of the other channels into account while rendering your selection, or does it just render the path on its own, excluding any other signals from the other channels/buses that might also be contributing in the mix to the master bus processing? Thanks
ОтветитьHi Dom, Could you do a video how to use Multi outputs and then render in place the midi tracks going into the Halion Sonic 7 Cubase12, I can't find anything on that Cheers Nick
ОтветитьWhat version of Cubase was "Render in Place" added?
ОтветитьMore Dom gold right here.
Ответитьthanks you are the best!!! 😀
ОтветитьWell, I will not buy a plugin for years anymore! I have to many I still have to learn inside out, and that's going to take a long time. Thanks for the eye opener! B.t.w. I don't blame plugin manufacturers, I know I have a lot to learn!
ОтветитьI opted out of freezing channels long ago due to potential rapid re-edits on films I am working on.
I sometimes have to add bars to meet the timing changes or play around with the tempo, and the frozen channels are locked, meaning they cannot be moved... I had to unfreeze and refreeze.
It was a nightmare, freezing is not for me anymore.
The other advantage of freeze is that you can select multiple tracks and leave them all to render in place while you make a fresh coffee! That was a really good addition in later Cubase iterations (although I never select unload instrument as every now and again it crashes Cubase - particularly with VPS Avenger for some reason...)
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video! This is going to help a lot! Render in place is just what I am looking for. :-)
ОтветитьIt defenitely helped me to understand what I have to do to save resources. Thank you!
Ответитьhow we render in place group challes, for example drum groups?
ОтветитьBounce selection also comes in handy when you use multiple copies of a file in the track, and you only want to manipulate one of them with ARA modules, direct processing etc. If you don't bounce a unique version, you are in for a world of pain understanding what's going on.
ОтветитьRENDER IS SUPERB!!!
Makes my job smoother as an Engineer
And keeps the vocals sounding clean with only
2.3 ms of latency in and out! When working with VST instruments is the main reason for using this feature as well as getting your mix ready to send stems to a mastering studio if needed!
All At 96k! Wowzer!
Thanx Dom!
As I record, I use bounce all the time ! I did not use the others yet.
ОтветитьMerci cool tuto
ОтветитьI upgraded from Elements to Artist recently for two main reasons (1) Getting Padshop & Retrolouge. (2) Render in Place - not just for the saving in CPU but the creative control a audio file gives you.
ОтветитьExcellent explanation and tutorial. I can see now that freezing the tracks has become a bit redundant, thanks to Cubases rendering options. This information will come in very handy when I begin adding Vox to my VSTi tracks.... Saving CPU and Ram may become crucial in my workflow....Thank You Dom.
ОтветитьHi Dom, thanks a lot for the great videos! Just a quick question: Can we achieve the same result with Render in Place and exporting via Audio Mixdown (for those who do not have Cubase Pro and so don't have the Render in Place functionality)? Thank you!
ОтветитьAny of these techniques reduces latency ?
ОтветитьDoes freezing tracks reduces latency ?
ОтветитьWhat if I want to render only the Inserts in the Audio but don't want to print the Volume Settings? This is not possible.. it prints the Fader Volume Settings but copy the Paning Settings.. For me this doesn't make sense! It would be great if Steinberg gives us more Options here too choose...
Ответить@Dom, could you please share the Macro that you created to: Disable Track + Hide Track?
ОтветитьGlitching .. here I come! 😍❤️
ОтветитьTHANKS! I didn't know about any of these things... and for me render in place is going to be in constant use. I used to route what I wanted to an audio track and record it that way. Doing that works just like render in place but obviously it takes more time and thought to get it right.
ОтветитьThanks a lot, once again 😎👍
Ответитьpalikari 😀 thanks your vidoes helped
ОтветитьIt would be cool to finally have the freeze function also for Group and FX channels like in other DAW's.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьI'm happy I found this video, my older laptop is having a hard time with CPU. I currently have a mix I'm working on and I can't export because it just crashes. So I went to use render in place outboard gear tracks to try and save some CPU and unfortunately I'm having the same issue. Now I don't know what to do 🤔☹️. I guess for now on I'll commit to R.I.P faster.
ОтветитьGreat reminder, I've been using freeze functionality since 2005 in my Steinberg DAW. I love the passion you have for mixing and production. Thanks for reminding me of my why Dom!
ОтветитьAmazing video! Thank you man! My computer has been grinding to a halt because I have been just freezing my tracks. Render in place looks awesome
ОтветитьIs the (R) at the end of the rendered track name optional? If I use a lot of virtual instruments and want to render them to prepare for a mix, is there any way to automatically keep the original names for the rendered tracks - no (R)?
ОтветитьI have a doubt.... Could you please clarify?
I have a midi track and I render it in place, and the audio is rendered.... But the audio rendered is missing audio inbetween even after properly selecting the entire section needed to be rendered and executing the the render in place option. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong??
Hi, when i want to freeze i don't have choise between Freeze Instruments Only and Freeze Instrument and Channels or Unload Instrument When Frozen. I can set tail size only. Is it possible to fix it?
ОтветитьNever knew Cubase has a bounce feature. Thank you!
ОтветитьHey dom ! Great video, please do a video on vst live pro .
ОтветитьDom, can’t you just use the glue tool on the selected track ?
ОтветитьThis is the best explanation and comparison of these three features. My CPU is happy now. Thank you Dom. Boom!
ОтветитьHas anyone ever told you that you look like Seth 'Freakin' Rollins?
Also helpful video, thank you.
Wow, I learn't a lot in this video I tell yah... The duplicate version on a track I never knew existed until now. Many thanks. Bounce Selection reasons, also, great reasons given for doing so.
Ответитьthanks dom!
