I think the situation around the pitch correction has changed. I don't hear any difference in pitch between Chromium browsers and Safari + Accelerate now. Also with Safari finally getting Safari Profiles with macOS Sonoma which can be auto enabled with focus modes, this just made Safari my primary browser!
My only issue with Accelerate is that if you press and hold the S or D buttons, the audio stutters which never happened in Chromium + video speed extension. But with Default + Preferred speed shortcuts, I can live with this for now and keep key eye out for an alternative in the future that fixes this - if Accelerate doesn't.
who else is watching this video in 2x speed
ОтветитьThere's no need to install anything, at least for YT there's native keybindings, try pressing "?" .. for playback speed it's Ctrl + comma (or dot).
Now.. why Safari mutes for a second when changing the playback speed? It's so annoying! .. whenever we increase/decrease the playback speed there's a quick mute in the video
btw I never noticed this weird pitch sound until this video lmao .. wow there's a huge difference between browsers!!
Man this app is just what I was looking for. I needed the keyboard shorcuts to skip forward/backward and play/pause so bad. Thanks a lot
ОтветитьThe pitch thing is what keeps me away from Safari, although it's more efficient.
Ответитьyes the pitch is a problem is there any way to get around that
ОтветитьI started using the app on m1 macbook air, the audio is sounding really weird at any speed other than 1x, I use video speed controller extension on Chrome, audio is totally fine in chrome, but in safari the audio is really weird.
ОтветитьWill it work with Facebook videos?
ОтветитьThere's definitely a point where that rapidly reverses, though, and it definitely depends on the context. The speed which Gerald Undone speaks, for instance, is probably past the limit where I can listen with 90% focus. I have to give it 100%, and even then I still ocassionally need to go back ten seconds. In practice, I actually listen to him at the recommended x0.75 speed, but if it is a subject I know something about, I often will put it on 1.5 or 2.0 speed.
But, and here's the thing: I haven't had much human contact in the last year, so I've found myself gravitating towards videos and podcasts with more than one person, and/or where the atmosphere is fun and social. And that atmosphere can very quickly go out the window on a higher speed
