ОтветитьStripping isn't *compression*, though it does save a bit of space. It "simply" removes unused code. Unfortunately it's possible that it determines that a chunk of code is unused and throws it away, even when it's needed to run the game.

ОтветитьHi, thanks for the video. I have a project I want to keep in linear space (but I tried this anyway with gamma) but whilst it rendered white and black large pixels before, with these settings it gets stuck on loading, any ideas how to fix it?

There is absolutely no 3rd party utility known to man that can modify or add content to .unityweb files, only extract from them

This is terrible advice. Yes it may fix a problem, but by bruteforcing. There are better ways to fix optimization issues, e.g. just by looking at the console. Usually it tells you directly what is wrong.
I never ever had a game be "too far" compresed this is just wrong. There might be other issues, server settings are one of them. So maybe compression is an issue for specific webhosts but the reasoning I think is wrong.
Both Gzip and brotli are lossless compressions so quality is not increased either by choosing those. Compression of assets is still defined per asset. For mesh compression though, you are right.

Gamemaker is much faster and never gets stuck on some il2cpp or compile web module.
But obviously gamemaker can't make 3d and basically everything but 2d
