At first I thought this was going to be a video about how some characters like Dehya don’t work with Xingqiu and/or Yelan, two top tier Hydro units because they don’t do normal attacks for damage.

Turns out this video still covered an issue I found bothersome in the game. From the moment I found out that each character has unique normal (and charged) attacks (some with unique animations such as Collei, Dehya, Kuki, etc), I felt bad not using my supports’ NA’s and only attacking on my on-fielder.

But hey, as you’ve said, Co-Op exists. 🥲 I usually take the time to appreciate my characters’ NA’s when I claim EXP on my friendship team.

I wish that eithe arlecchino, sigewinnw, clorinde or emille's kit can make dehya more funa to play. Because I really wanna build Dehya and play her but I keep second guessing myself and would just use her fon funsies with her poopoo level 50 no talents but good artifacts and weapon which are easy to give to others huhu

With Thoma, this video was released well after dendro and Nahida were out. Burgeon Thoma was very much a thing and he has energy issues with his best weapon (Kitain) wanting him to burst > skill meaning he stays on field for at least 1 attack string to catch his own particles and sometimes more if you need to battery him. His normal attacks aren't directly doing damage but they don't need to be for you to see them.

Tbh Layla should have been our first cryo catalyst character! It fits her so much, also as for someone who is sleepy all the time. Those 4 stars in her shield should have been her NA

I honestly really like Kaeya's finisher. His basic combo if I remember correctly is almost the same as Bennett with different speeds, but for his finisher he literally teleports.
And as a Kaeya main, I find this not only really cool, but also useful sometimes.

istg if furina navia and clorinde dont have 5 normal attacks. theyre so badass they need 5 !!!!!

I main yanfei and am blessed with a character with awesome NA animations and a kit that actually makes use of them 🥰

When you realize Venti is the only 5* Bow user that doesn't have an unique charged shot

granted you still need a c6 to use Kazuha's normal attacks effectively, but not neccesarily his own c6. Personally I really love playing c1 DPS Kazuha with mistsplitter in a team with c6 Bennett. Because you're able to get an elemental damage infusion with his basics, you're actually able to get full stacks on the mistsplitter resulting in 40% anemo dmg bonus but also pyro dmg bonus so that his normal and charged attack damage is actually decent while you're waiting for your skill to come off cooldown. Not to mention the pyro dmg bonus us actually useful for his A1 passive that makes his plunge attack infuse with the element he swirled and it's actually able to crit and act as a seperate multiplier dealing around 20k at times. His charged attacks in Bennett's burst also do around 25k for me (with an 80/200 crit, 2,300 atk build)

they are so pretty and so useless! I triple crowned him, gave him best supports, all kinds of infusion, physical, mistsplitter BUT TO WHAT AVAIL?? He still does as much as half assed built Rosaria supporting him 😭
His insanely low multipliers plus atk AND def scaling makes him impossible to build so he would be on field and not loose his value (which is already in shambles coz GEO BUFF WHEN)

Yelan C6 is a world deleter though and it's for her normals too.

Normal attacks were a big thing for me when I started. Yun Jin is still my fav even throw I can’t make her valid for abyss. I feel bad for characters like this but then I remember somebody is getting paid to come up with these things to not get used😭

Maybe using the bell with dori would help? since bell makes a shield scaling from hp, its small but will help against interruptions for her c6

TBH Dehya's Normal attacks doesn't feel that big of a miss because her burst had the most cool elements of her normal attacks.

But even her Burst kinda sucks 😭😭😭

I main Xiao and I usually just use his normal attacks during his burst because they look cool. And pair him with raiden it’s like infinite eye candy.

Fun fact: Candace's shield smash attack is considered blunt, so it does much more damage to ores and other geo objects than the rest of her string.

We have a new addition to this list: Kirara. Her first attack is a normal sword slash, her second attack she just yeets away the sword getting in her way, then she proceeded to claw the enemy for her next 2 attacks. She’s only used for her box mode and burst

I enjoy juggling enemies in the air with Diluc's normal attacks and mix in his 2nd searing onslaught it's easier to launch then you just normal attack 1&2 and they're in the air for as long as you want almost. So satisfying when you also dawn an enemy and it's as if you playing baseball or something, if enemy is already in the air then it is a free homerun.

I am trying to triple crown Collei cuz I love her. Problem is, Im too lazy. Also, Ayatos default normals also not used. Cuz he changes them with e and everyone only use normals after e. And I think it is cute that his second to last normal is literally a weaker version of Ayakas charged attack. And also, I thought about building Layla as cryo dps with Chongyun cuz her normal attacks are my favorite in the game. But I decided to just build her normally.

Dota 2 has multiple mechanics that affect auto attacks, in Genshin there are almost nothing that affects them besides artifacts, the multipliers are just way too low to have any affect.

I have the theory of the one who make the animation of attacking is not the same as the one who make the mechanics of the gameplay, like the animation is all done and then the one who make the gameplay says "she gonna be a support". Because let's be frank, a fuc** mercenary is a support and a funeral director is a damage dealer, makes no sense at all.

I think it's pretty obvious why yelan's attack animation is the most replayed part of the video😅

i'd really flip out if they introduce a character that actually use guns (like that pyro fatui gunner) and their normal attack have really cool animation but shit damage

zhongli is viable with a normal attack build. it's not meta-defining, but it can 36-star abyss if it's on the mostly single-target side. i know it's not a very high bar to clear, but he's the second best phys attacker in the game.

I like your editing and content ideas but I don't like the music playing in the back. It also sounds too loud.

Furthermore, I think that a scripted voice over sounds better in a short informative/guide video but a video over 3 minutes, where you are just being casual and sharing your opinions, should sound more raw and unrefined.

Actually the first character to use a weapon type that is not playable is not kuki, it is childe, using daguers during his skill normal attacks

Another thing I dislike, that pushes normal attacks back, is how disgustingly fast energy recharge is.

When you start the game, it gives you the illusion that you are going to use a lot of normal attacks with elemental skills sprinkled in here and there, and when you eventually get the energy, you can unleash your ultimate move when the situation arises/when you need it for a tough foe. How cool and immersive that feels, right?

The reality quickly becomes you swapping between characters, using their skill, using their burst, attacking maybe once or twice if the character swap cooldown is still on, and then you just repeat... And your burst is more often limited by the actually quite short cooldown as opposed to the energy...

There are a few characters where you do happen to use them on-field for longer, but even some of those are spamming the same copypase charge attack as opposed to cool attack chains (cough cough Hu Tao).

As a thoma main for nearly a year who built him as a sub dps, (who moved on to Yanfei) I love Thoma's attacks! They're stylish yet brutal, and the way he literally kicks smaller enemies at the end it so cool.
