Quick note: didn't realize this vid was 2 years old! Everything I said still stands tho ^.^ fantastic educational video.
Came here trying to research chromoly vs alloy for my mazdadspeed 3 build. I got just that but so much more! I learned a ton about clutches in general from you, everything you said made sense to me ; I can perform basic maintenance but anything else I'm potato brained. Definitely subscribed! ^.^ keep it up my guy.
Would this be a good clutch for an STI on a Stage 2 working on trying to reach 400whp next with turbo and fueling upgrades coming next!
ОтветитьIs the clutch pedal heavy ? When shifting gears?
ОтветитьDamnit why did i get an alum flywheel!!
ОтветитьI just bought one of these to replace an Exedy twin disc with a broken spring after only 8k miles. I can't wait to see the difference. Also can't wait to get 1st and reverse back...
Ответитьbehind... sunny b13? ♥
ОтветитьWonder how this would compare to ACT's MOD Twin? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
ОтветитьC4 Corvette with ZF6 have a pull type.
Oh & 1st gen Dodge Vipers
Going back to push type on an STI would be silly.
Ответитьawesome
ОтветитьWhen focusing more on track use for a build, there are better options IMHO. Although it's not intended for street used and a bit more expensive, I've been running Exedy twin plate clutch and flywheels on my 400hp SR20 swapped 510, and my brother's 700hp R32 GT-R with very positive results. They're not particularly heavy, and with it's short throw response it may requires more attention to rev matching, but once you get used to it, shifting is far less effort and much quicker. In all consideration for the intended use, it's not ideal for easy street bombing, but on the track, it's definitely better for faster lap times.
ОтветитьUncle you made me buy this clutch after this video! Thank you so much 🤙🏽
ОтветитьHey Mike Xclutch offers a variety of clutches. I have an Evo 8 and im interested in getting this same twin disc clutch you advertised. What's the model # on that bad boy?
ОтветитьCan I just come hang out with Mike and listen to his wisdom for a week? I'd turn wrenches for his wealth of knowledge. Seriously.
ОтветитьBout ready to use my ACT clutch as a damn frisbee...
ОтветитьPretty sweet
Ответитьwhat's a good replacement for a stock 2018 STI?.. looking for something to replace my daily driven STI.
ОтветитьIdk I like the feeling of heavy clutches
ОтветитьWhat's your experience been like with this clutch on track? I'm looking for a replacement clutch for my evo x and it's been between this and the exedy twin disc ceramic. I also looked at McLeod Mag Force SE but they only seem to make it for evo 8/9. Only do about 5 track days a year.
ОтветитьI bought this clutch because of you, and I can honestly say, thank you!!! Also I’ve rewatched this video over a dozen times, and it never gets old ❤
ОтветитьI have a 2020 STI 400 whp. Is this too much clutch for me?
ОтветитьOne thing I learned is that the metal alignment tool avoids all that "fiddle farting" :)
ОтветитьI just purchased one this morning and 10 seconds later thought to myself, “what have I done?”😰 …then I remembered this video and came back to watch it. All of my worries are gone. Thank you😎
ОтветитьInteresting. I didn't know about pull type throw out bearings. I wonder if that would help mitigate the higher thrust bearing wear from heavier diaphragm springs.
ОтветитьHas anyone had any issues with the pilot bearing install? I have a feeling my flywheel may have been machined incorrectly because the pilot bearing easily can be put in by hand, and removed by hand. I also tried an oem bearing and had the same issue..
ОтветитьI love this man! He's brilliant, and mellow at the same time. BRAVO!
Ответитьcoud this be a good alternativ to doublemass flywheel on a diesel engine? My flywheel and clutch cant handle the power and abuse, but it also needs to be comfortble to drive
ОтветитьThis guy just answers any car questions I have. I search up a question about any part or an engine and MotoIQ comes up and 100% of my questions are answered lmao.
ОтветитьThat's a sweet lookin clutch
ОтветитьI found this gentleman to be very informative and one of the best presenters I've ever seen. I go back time and time again to look at his tutorials and the gain his wisdom
ОтветитьI did a used motor and transmission swap in 2011 wrx and order twin ceramic by accident and it’s in,think it will work mostly stock wrx?
Ответитьexcellent video, very informative.
Ответитьthis will be my next clutch on my Evo 6, thank you!
ОтветитьI can't stop seeing videos from this guy!!! And now I want a 800hp Subaru STI for some reason... hahahahhha!
ОтветитьNissan b13 🤤🤤
Ответитьi feel like this guy is holding back his laughter, no idea why.
Ответитьmetal alignment tool oooo... plastic installation tools definently need to go.
ОтветитьI can listen to him for days
ОтветитьWould this hold 1200+whp (and 1200nm) in a A80 Supra?
Ответить“Big wad of junk” aka rats nest
ОтветитьBecause Americans can only drive automatics their left legs have become weak , withered and useless .Us Europeans from the day we start driving use manual cars ( stick shift) and thus develop strong left legs and can deal with any strength of clutch .I worry about the younger generation though , "flappy paddle" gear change and , gulp , electric cars
ОтветитьLink me their clutch kit for all motor k 300hp, couldn't find their site.. thanks
ОтветитьIs that a B13 SE-R in the back? God iloved those cars. I wish i could find an hnmolested one these days.
Ответитьbig wad of 🤣 junk
ОтветитьI'm good with Exedy
ОтветитьLove these videos lots of OG's don't share this type of knowledge freely although I guess they still make something off these vids
ОтветитьI'm going to need one of these when I build my Factory 5 818.
ОтветитьGet a real clutch, a Tilton.
ОтветитьORC dual plate is same thing, I luv it. 400hp 670nm and it is super strong, Using carbon fibre syncro's in my setup and moded shifters, dont know if that makes it different
Ответить
