This is an excellent review, which gives a really good perspective on the difference between knowing about VR and seeing videos of it (or watching others play VR games), and then trying it out yourself.

I think my favorite moment upon replaying the game is when, in the ant lion zoo tiger section, the exhibits were almost all housing something real. Being able to put on the river skull blew me away as well

Just bought tje oculus quest 2 and for $350 it's a pretty cheap way to get into VR.

if you want to get into vr then get an oculus quest 2 its the cheapest headset assuming you have no other equipment and doesn't need a PC to run then if you decide you like vr and have a PC you can use air like or virtual desktop or the oculus cable to play PC vr games on it
just for those wondering I've had both psvr and the quest 2 they are both about the same with performance but the quest has much better tracking and no wires but the psvr has an amazing standard heat strap although you need a ps4 or 5 to use it

Quest 2 wireless running Virtual Desktop with a dedicated router and gaming PC. Bliss.

Why isn't VR still massive in the gaming industry yet? Gee, it's probably the huge price tag. $1000 for a good VR headset isn't worth spending for most people considering that it costs as much as a good gaming pc or double the price of a console. Most people don't have the cash to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for VR, over and above the cost of their gaming console/pc.

But hardcore Henry was fun to watch.

If you didn’t grow up loving Mario 64, ocarina, smash 64..... then you aren’t a valid human being and your opinions probably suck.


Welll I guess for newer generations the next valid titles for raising kids ages 4-12 are twilight princess, four swords, wind waker, re4, halo 1-3, gta 4, half life 2, portal, l4d. Knights of the old republic. So if they didn’t grow up with these.... don’t go near them. They’re just boring robots that consume & enjoy gross modern pop music.

Oh come on you have to play boneworks it’s so much more interactive than this game, it’s this cool indie game shooter with an amazing soundtrack and the best vr physics engine from any game.

I played Alyx with 299$ Oculus 2 without cords (airlink) and it was awesome

The thing that’s gonna “save” us from VR is the now unavoidable and premature extinction of our species.

We’ve only got around 30 years till all our food starts dying. After that, it should take another 20 years for whatever’s left of humanity to starve to death.

Maybe a handful of fringe, primitive, tribal societies will survive, but even if they do, it’ll be hundreds of thousands of years before we’ve even got electricity back, so it’s all good man.
