I was hoping this was going to finally be someone that could help me and that was going to lay it all on the line and be real and give me some facts. But no, she's sugar coats it worst than alot of the others. I'm gonna be 57 in 2 months. I've had a great sex life until about age 50, when full on menopause hit hard. I had a woman GYN that would not prescribe me any hormones, because SHE doesn't believe they are necessary. Ofcourse, she's not near menopause yet, and shame on me, but I hope she has ALL MY SYMPTOMS when she gets there! Just so happens, at the same time that menopause hit me my husband went through his 'midlife crisis' and we had a situation where we was not intimate for a short while. My GYN actually told me the reason that I had painful sex was because my body has shut down to him because of psychological reasons. What the hell!? Now, I actually think I would never be able to have sex again. Every time we ever try it is so extremely painful and that is only if he can actually penetrate. I know this is a lot of information and maybe TMI, but I don't want it to hit another woman out of the blue and her be shocked and wonder why this is happening, the way I was and STILL am. A little uncomfortable, my ass. Is feels like barbs. And I'm going to give you some more TMI... this is coming from someone who was always multi-orgasmic, so this really pisses me off. So maybe when this doctor gets to be my age she'll find it not so much fun to be a woman either

Strangely I was less hairy when I was younger. The older I get my legs and public hair has grown. Its bizarre. I've never been hairy. I dont get facial hair either.

These are informative for me. Im a still pretty active 59yo man , my fiance is just a couple of years behind me. We were in the “honeymoon “ stage still .things were fantastic. My sweetheart was my pocket rocket 😂 i was the one worrying about my age and was even starting to work out again. I was worried this old man didn’t have the stamina to keep up with this amazing lady.

Thanks Dr. Jen, So glad this is being discussed publicly! had a abdominal hysterectomy at age 40, and had no issues, but around age 55 my lady parts shut down! I experienced dryness, spotting and severe pain during intercourse. I was too embarrassed to seek help -one time after sex , my insides were literally torn and weird sloughing was coming out for 2 weeks and the pelvic pain was excruciating! I freaked out and finally told my Gyn - I was diagnosed w menopause after labs confirmed it and vaginal atrophy-which causes the vaginal wall to become very thin -& fragile. I felt ashamed and suddenly felt old and less vibrant. I cried so hard in the Drs office-and she said —Honey don’t be ashamed..Trust me I’m sure your husband at age 55 ain’t performing the same either 😅😅 I’m thankful for her listening ear -the prescribed vaginal estrogen tablets have been a lifesaver in healing & restoring the vaginal walls -and vitamins such as Slippery Elm are effective in restoring moisture! Also found that getting in at least 60-80oz of water daily helps as well.

I’ve been searching the whole internet for an answer since my 20th birthday I noticed that it was different down there…even though I’m a virgin so no sexual activity was the cause it feels like I had sex ! it’s way less tight and more flexible if that’s the right word? I haven't had sex since 2005 and I also have Sjorens Syndrome which makes thing even worse since it attacks my moisture producers. No one can tell me what is best to use to help with the discomfort. Also yeast infections are so common and I use to get one every time after sex. I've had 2 prolapses and have had them repaired. Have learned this is also common with this disease. Any suggestions?

Woman’s biology goes in age but, as intimacy is concern science I suppose in this day and age has already been aware on how to equip older interests and desires to that fulfilling sexual encounters.
