Am I the only one getting triggered by all the... fingers on the triggers? TRIGGER DISCIPLINE FFS! 🤬
UPDATE: it seems that I missed the fact that Command and Conquer games were indeed censored in Germany before Generals. My bad, forgot about it. Still, I believe Generals looked really bad.
(Yeah, I know I missed Tiberium Wars and Tiberian Dawn. I'm just a Red Alert man, is all.)
Why Gaddafy or Stalin or Chausecu or Saddam but not Raegan or Taetcher or Pinocthet or Suhatro? or yes one of them enemy of West (Pol pot and Chausecku and even Saddan one time was friend too of USA) and another is friends. Where is modghedian leaders or exrtra nazi Tudjman yes - that buthers was allied with west. I just forget how it worked. I love westwood still and Kane ofc but they vies is absolutly horrible for me

ОтветитьGood showcase on how society didn't shun from hot topics as it does now. Now even political incorrectness must be politically correct.
ОтветитьI think the last years you only can make satirical jokes when they can clearly be noticed as jokes...(or the medium suggest comedy) if anything is not too obvious suddenly triggers hell.
I doubt C&C would be worse than things seen on family guy today, the difference is you know you shouldnt put much importance on the second, but looks like having 10 seconds where you could consider "killing civilians" a viable option (even if later narrative tells you its not a good thing, just a depicable tactic) by "your own hand" in a videogame is inmediatelly a terrorist recruitment recipe.
I think the biggest problem is that most people are happy simply looking at the first tree of a deeper forest... some marketing is based on "paint that first tree red" so even if the depths are not explored will anyways trigger a "what is that?" reaction, that may become sighly viral on population, making some other people that could be interested on dig in notice its existence (however, probably much more people will also dislike it by consider "the whole depths are as red as the marketing") said this, on the market I suspect is better to balance amount of customers with overall public aceptation (so is better to have lots of customers even if the rest of the world hates you, than have way less customers but noone outside of this group hating)
it never glorified war, it made fun of the people who decides to make one
ОтветитьJaques Chirac indeed on there because France was doing some really controversial nuclear tests at the time.
"There's no such thing as friendly fire" was part of a list of Murphy's Military laws going around the early days of the internet. Another wording of it I've seen was "Friendly fire ain't".
Retaliation had another ad with a guy being zapped by a Tesla Coil.
ОтветитьI've never even seen a CnC advert that wasn't in the box of a CnC game, I had no idea they got so crazy.
Also that background music, it's quiet but so good!
