This tip is wonderful, especially since I'm trying to wear less eye makeup as I age (70) but my eyes look so naked without anything. I do also have dry eye so I have to be careful, but this tip is important. I remove all eye makeup with a foaming cleanser (no oil) and put warm compresses on my eyes before sleep, which really helps.

First off, that was an overload of eye base dumped on the eyelid, You can still see excess at the inner corner. Adding eye pencil to the under lid lash line is putting product directly in contact to the eye. BAD IDEA!

Hello, yes, I have been doing this trick for about 10 years now. I first learned of it while working in Macy's at the fragrance counter. It is very neat and makes a significant difference in the eyes.

My two cents: I wouldn't put the eyeliner on the inner eyelid. I put the eyeliner in the eyelash line. That's as close as I go with it. Putting the eyeliner on the inner eyelid doesn't sound right to me.

You are lovely! But putting eyeliner where you suggest can clog the eye glads which can cause eye problems. Beware!

My eyes have a tendency to water alot. And even when they don't, in all my life of wearing eye liner (which I don''t very often at all) I have never been able to keep it on my water line. It just comes off. I am Scandinavian so I have very hooded eye lids - which, when wearing eye liner makes my eyes look even smaller than they are no matter how it's applied. Now I'm 52 and although I've never worn much more than eyeshadow/liner/mascara I am wearing even less these days. But, you are beautiful and have great eyes!

After years of using mascara I feel that rolling my brush as I stroke up has the most and best effect.

This is the stupidest idea ever. What older woman does this? We all wear reading glasses. This woman won't be doing this in a couple years, if not now, either. Geez.

I have had no success with mascara as I aged. When you explained your trick of using the movement of the eyelid closing to stroke the brush, it completely changed the game for me. Now I can finally get mascara on the lashes, and can’t wait to try your mascara as well. Thank you so much for the education you offer to elder women using well developed techniques so clearly explained. Many of us grew up in an era when makeup was forbidden or considered whoreish. We woman have to lift each other up, and you do a fabulous job! Thanks so much!

My eyes water the moment I try eyeliner on the top waterline

This isn't a great idea especially for older ladies or anyone with sore eyes. Plus I'm sorry your cheeky tip was being done in the 60's and again in the 80's .....take a look at Princess Diana and in the 60's all the pop stars were doing it. Its not new and its definitely not a great idea. Less is best for older ladies.....you're never going to be able to turn back the clock with this technique.

Back in the 80's I used to do that in high school with my Maybelline eyeliner. I would use a lighter to warm it up first to make it a little like liquid. Made my lashes look thicker and a little of the liner showed up on the bottom rim for a nice effect. Now I don't wear any makeup.

The liner under the eye is an age old makeup trick. It’s not a new thing.
