My loan had 8.5 percent interest so I paid the lump sum I received from the money I lent somebody. If I invested it the most interest I can get is only 5 percent.

Plus he's full of it. It doesn't matter what the house will sell for later if it's paid off. It's actually more of a problem if you don't pay off the house because then you continue to lower the value of your investment the more you still put money into a mortgage. Clearing the mortgage allow the value to stay competitive relative to what you paid. Plus most gurus are foolishly preaching that you'll be happy renting instead of owning a home. Have you heard that BS??

What he isn't telling us is that Wells Fargo & Chase are secretly buying up properties in the country with the agenda to force people to rent instead build ownership. That can't happen for them if they don't push the idea of renting and staying in mortgage. But to be wealthy you have to first get out of the land of payments. A big part of that is clearing your debt, and a mortgage is usually your biggest debt.

5 minutes into this guys video, I started thinking..... If I was in his office and he kept fumbling around I'de beat his head with the stapler. While shouting answer the damn question.

By the end of the video I knew he had no clue about what he's talking about

If I pay a huge amount like 75% of the principal balance all at once, In the first couple years of a 30-year mortgage, when does the amortization schedule change? Immediately or gradually? I thought that the rest of my payments will be going mostly to the principal but I'm still paying a lot of interest on the next bill
