Ответитьthe walk arounds really are a bit much and not germaine
ОтветитьYou forgot the Chevy Malibu with their 1.5T 4 cylinder Motor. My wife’s 2016 Malibu with just 35k miles on it got a check engine light light when she started it up early in the morning to go to work a week ago Friday Oct. 13th. She was smart and shut it off instead of driving it her 30 miles to work. Later that morning I took my OBD II scanner and connected it to the Malibu. It showed one code PO304 number 4 cylinder Misfire. So as soon as I got a chance I pulled number 3&4 Cylinder Coil Packs and switched them to see if I had a bad coil pack. Found out both coils were good so I pulled the spark plug in number 4 cylinder. It looked fine to me but a little on the darker side but no oil residue. Plug was dry. I replaced it with a new plug and it made no difference. Erased the code and put about 14 miles on the car and observed the check engine light flashing in the dash for maybe 1O seconds but the light went out so I headed home. Once there I connected my OBD II Scanner once again and it didn’t show any codes at all. Shut the car down for about 15 minutes then decided to take it for another ride to test it out again and as soon as I started it I got the Check engine light in the dash again with the same code PO304. At that point I did just about all I could do so last Friday I called my local Chevy Dealer to schedule a Diagnostic appointment and they had me drop it off the next day Saturday morning. Got a call Saturday afternoon and was told that I need to have the Engine replaced in the car and the cost would be $10,235.99. The car is still sitting there as of Monday. I put a call into GM to see if they can do anything for me being it had 7 Dexos 5/30 Full Synthetic oil changes since I purchased it as a New left over in 2017. They never got back to me so I need to see today Tuesday if they call. There is no way I am going to pay over $10,000 for another crap motor. I will have to pay $189 for the Diagnostic but I will take the car home and try to sell the car as is. My days of buying American cars I believe are over. I never thought I would be saying that. At 72 years old I did stay loyal to buying American Cars only. I have never purchased a Foreign Car before. I did a lot of research on the 1.5T Engine and can’t believe all the problems out there with them. There is a Car Repair Shop on You Tube what had the same problem with a car in his shop he did a video on only with the code PO301 misfire in #1 Cylinder and he says that one has a bad Piston. The Chevy Dealer said the Piston is bad in cylinder #4 on mine.
ОтветитьAnd the 2016 sonata
ОтветитьOn the Chevy equinox,I think you meant piston meets valve. Piston meeting cylinders is normal. When a timing belt or chain slips or breaks the valves get hit by the pistons , except for non interference segines.
ОтветитьA car brand telling you to go over 5,000 miles per oil change is a crime in itself
ОтветитьSlightly off subject but Hyundai have told me it's not their fault that the paint (white) on my i20 is peeling off like a hard boiled egg - yet its all over the media , stay away from Hyundai.
ОтветитьGentleman and Scholar 💯
ОтветитьIf you had said the newer Subarus, I would argue you didn’t do your research.
People still selfishly argue Minis don’t have reliable engines either, i own one, and can confirm they have improved after 2015.
Much more reliable
BMW stands for best man wife
ОтветитьMy boss had an F10 550xi and he had to replace the engine at around 60k km. The replacement is allegedly fixed and should last a good amount.
ОтветитьBMW = Break My Wallet
15,000-mile oil changes on a TWIN turbo engine. 🤣😂😆 Why not full 20,000 miles? 🤣😂 Or just change the engine every 40,000 miles!
I couldn't agree more on the early Audi 2.0T engines. Who designed those things? An engineering kindergarten? So many screw-ups in a single design!
Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, and a couple more models share this same drivetrain. RUN from it! RUN!
* Mitsubishi should be on this list as well. Some Mitsubishi engines begin to wear about at just 60,000 miles. Piston rings just go out on those engines.
I like the box escape
ОтветитьAnything made by Dodge fiat is junck
ОтветитьThe b in bmw means bad
ОтветитьToyota 4cyl and the 90s crown vic. Absolute tanks. The old Opel engine, eco-tech variants have been pretty good to me but I haven't snapped a belt on em.
ОтветитьOne aspect with engine bay components, is the use of cheap plastic, in BMW cars! By far one of the cheapest shortcuts to lighten weight!
ОтветитьEcoboom!
ОтветитьI saw a video of a new ford vehicle that ran the oil pump with a belt. That same belt would wear, send debris into the oil it was pumping, and then the pump would get clogged and grenade the engine around $80k miles. Beautiful engineering.
ОтветитьThat RX 8 was in beautiful shape.
Ответитьif you see Ecoboost just run away as fast as possible if you could ride a rocket just do it
