Forza Horizon 5 - 5 Reasons Why JAPAN Wasn't Chosen!

Do a video on the next gen forzatech engine?

i was thinking about las vegas, south korea, or somewhere else in europe

If there was a chaser added into forza 5 or the next one, that would be my favorite car to use

Tbh Japan could be cool but I understand why it can't

I really hope that in the future we'll get games situated around Japan or South Korea. They are purely amazing countries.

And although some people consider they lack diversity, I actually think the opposite. In FH5, all we've got are long roads, deserts, jungle, some old town, a mountain and beaches, not really anything we're not used to.

But in Japan / Korea, imagine driving from a place like Kyoto, Tokyo, Wangan to a mountain or forest full of Cherry Blossom trees, then going to long underground tunnels or expressways, going in a rural place full of buildings, residential areas, or maybe going to Japanese styled beaches, full of fishing boats. Just imagine how mesmerizing it would be driving at night in rural Japan or Korea, full of neon lights, futuristic designs, etc.

It would just be too amazing for me.

Next will be mother Russia

hmmm for the game to go to other then japan they can try hong kong or south Korea since story-wise we may get a huge difference

I love that it’s gone to Mexico, but Mexico isn’t very diverse compared to Japan, Mexico is desert, Japan is cities, rainforests, mountains, loads of snow, a lot more diverse

i just feel japan will be to cramped maybe a dlc map would be could horizon needs a mix where we can go offroading

Truthfully, I don't think a Horizon Japan will be good from the communities perspective, and here is why. Its been so hyped up as the apex of Horizon. Japan being the perfect location, however its not possible for them to live up to all this hype. We've seen from 3 onwards that they are morphing the series to a much larger audience rather than the niche fanbase that it originally catered to so well. This audience has only made the Japan crowd larger as they join and hear about the possibilities, and then the hype grows and only continues to balloon. The idea of Japan has grown out of reach for Playground Games and Microsoft to truly capture in the vision that so many want it to be. This ballooning of the hype has lead to unrealistic expectations, when its just not feasable without many years of optimisation and several back end corners being cut. A great example of what would happen is Call of Duty: Warzone. Although it doesn't have they hype behind it like Horizon Japan does, it does have the key back end pieces. The file size of Warzone has ballooned. They have had 100 gigabyte updates. Although it has been trimmed down now, with such a large amount of assets, the same thing will happen with Forza without lots of optimization or instead a massive reuse of textures. Horizon 5's size is already 110 gigabytes. For consoles, thats quite a lot of storage, and console storage has only gotten more expensive with the next gen consoles. PC has less of a problem, but for budget gamers who cut all of the corners, storage may be hard to come by and they don't simply have 110 gigabytes free that easily. I don't believe that its reasonable to expect such an effort from Horizon: Japan because of many limitations like this and with the state of the hype only continuing to balloon, if they ever get around to it, the fanbase will be split in two. The first segment would say its perfect and everything they wanted it to be, and the second would say it didn't live up to the hype. A lot of this would be centered around the launch of the game, so its unknowable what the percentages would be, but its pretty obvious that it would end up like this.

To make Japan as interesting as possible, I think they would need to map the whole country. I also want them to make another in the United States maybe making it so you can load into different states

Not sure if anyone would agree with me, but I think Iceland would be super cool as a forza map. Its a pretty small place, so I could also see it as a dlc but they did do Colorado before so idk. I think it would be cool because there are many winding roads and sights, such as volcanoes, waterfalls, black ice, lush fields, and the northern lights. Not to mention the beautiful architecture of the towns. Car culture doesn’t seem to be a huge thing there, but the map seems like it would be a great fit for driving.

Japan should've been 4's location instead of Britain, Mexico was a fantastic choice for 5's location.

I mean it's sad to me japan wasnt chosen. But the game is amazing. I think they were planning Mexico for so long to make it good. They could not just trow everything away and strat japan just because some players asked. I think it will come, but just not now

I'm fine with Mexico,horizon is gonna go to Japan eventually,when it does it will be glorious,but Mexico is pretty good

definitely like japan idea more. or maybe even abu dhabi. the mexico map looks perfect for games like ghost recon. very nice jungles and highway chase scene, but for a strictly car game it was a downgrade from UK with one of the nicest concrete roads to dirt road that doesnt showcase the cars pretty good.

Forza Horizon Japan sohuld have:
1- New Touge battle (head2head) system.
2- New Touge drift system (only a chill and fun mode).
3- More racetracks:
i know, it's an arcade open world game, but we actually can get lot of racetracks and have fun on them even in a arcade open world game, the crew 2 have lot of racetracks and they have lot of players, and come on, Japan is a pure racing country, they have LOT of racing categories and LOT of racetracks, the motorsport is really popular there.
4- Street and Pro Racing "career" mode:
Yeah, that's exactly what you're thinking. At night you get reputation and money on touge racing/drifting with bets and racing for money, and during the day you get reputation and money racing profecionally at the racetracks with sponsors, championships and everything that a race gives you. It's just like Need for Speed Heat but in Japan and with touges and ACTUAL racetracks and without cops making every race worth. Come on, in Japan it just makes sense and it's actually everyone's dream to have this "double" racing life.
5- Car meets:
It would be very nice to build pretty looking a car just for showing it at the car meet, also the racetrack would create the posibility to us to do a car meet, drift meet and even trackdays for fun or money.

I do not want japan to be a map because people want it for drifting but i don't like japan and can't read japanese so i am happy with mexico

I said once that I wanted a Horizon game to be set in Japan. I got cussed out and called every slur in the book. Some people need to take a chill pill and remind themselves that it’s just pixels
