And I'm sure you're collecting the outfall from those filter washes. Just so we have no government involvement in this.

I think this is what I’m going to do.

I just bought used a Takeuchi 8. The DPF is thoroughly clogged. The machine is throwing a code and won’t stay in Regen. I bought the machine to be a beater, not my primary equipment. I expect it would cost minimum 3G to have it done professionally? If not more?

So power wash it and put it back in and that’s it? Should I expect it to stop throwing a code automatically or run regen?

Great vid.

Hi guys. PLEASE HELP!!!
My Dpf soot levels were over 50-55%, the car entered limp mode, so I decided to take it out and send it of to a company to clean it, it's a good legit company, I've heard good things about them.
But I've put the dpf back in and tried to reset the faulths with "Carista" it didn't work only for 2 seconds, the coil and engine light comes back on, and "Carista" shows the same soot levels as before.
Is there a way to reset the soot levels? Please help somebody.

I don't understand how a DPF saves the environment. If you remove it the particulates fall to the ground, they are heavier than air. If you clean it the particles go down the drain. If you replace it the particles go to the landfill. One way or another it all ends up back to the Earth.

i clean these professionally. we do tests before to make sure the dpf passes various tests before hand. we use a blast cabinet to blow out as much particulate as possible then move it to a high pressure water and air flush station. then again to the blast cabinet to blow out as much moisture as possible then proceed to bake the dpf for 12 hours at 1100 degrees Celsius. after all that we move it to the blast station again to get the final particulates out. our cleaning method cleans 99% of contaminates in the dpf or doc.

Huh, this is the second video I've seen recommending pressure washing. Good guidance about not doing it too close to the channels to prevent over-pressure and damage to the cells.

Will be attempting this soon on a 2011 International DuraStar. I read through the comments and have gathered some good info. Run a parked regen before and after, replace clamps and have the soot levels/dpf reset. My question however, is there a way to reset the soot levels/dpf on my own utilizing a laptop or other form of tool? Or is going to a shop my only option?

I am a retired CAT field service technician and i was doing this for years. Especially when customers wanted to save money and had the time to spend . Rather then be in a rush and use reman or new parts and Cat ET has provisions for telling the ecm you field cleaned the filters. That’s essentially what this is.

Did the cancer rate increased in your neighborhood? You should warn people before doing something like that because it exposes them and the environment to some extremely toxic substances. And no the amount that gets out of the filter while running on vehicle is not the same you are washing right there. It goes into the water then into the fish or animal that dinks the water and then your kid`s eats the fish or animal. It`s called a filter for a reason.

If the EPA was really concerned about clean air we would have been using natural gas to run our vehicles a long time ago. And by the way, ivermectin cures cancer.

yup, thank you for the idea.....have done this 2 times already to my 2013 Volvo d13...
works perfectly, just used high pressure clear water, no soap or any additives, and rinsed the dog in the opposite way of the exhaust flow...
let dry overnight, reset the dog service meter w a laptop, and good for 2 yrs and close to 500k km' each time I have done this...
only real cost each time are the gaskets and v-band clamps that need to be replaced...
cannot thank you enough for the video and the idea, saves a lot of money and time....
