best naval tip? put the game on easy.

always initiate boarding when you see it available. when you see the anchor above them. all other boats wont fight you when you are boarded on an enemy ship. also, it allows you to loot the treasures for 30 seconds or so after the last person is dead

Idk why but I can't seem to figure out how to fire anything
but arrows when I also have javelines on my ship. Nothing in the game controls says anything about naval combat

Got about 50 hours in this game now. And thank you, especially for the tip about seeing the fire damage timer. Had no idea you could see the build up and the timer for the duration

My best strat is to turn the volume WAY DOWN because Barnabas drives me CRAZY!

Naval is why I had to move my difficulty to Hard/Heavy. Dying to boats I can’t see on screen is maddening.

I hate the naval part because it feels so complicated with dull controls! 😵I'm trying to avoid quests related to naval.

farming for resources is recommended you farm ships a few levels lower sink & loot dont board, so it pays to upgrade the ship parts as early as you can that help you sink ships as early as you can, personally i preferred the resource wagons or chariots from origins you could scout for with the eagle then chase it down & rob it

I can't even pick up floating loot...something seems to be wrong.

Honestly my first Assassin's Creed was Blackflag so ive mastered this games waters without trouble. here's a tip for you: Have either the back or front of your ship face dead on at the enemy when they are at ramming speed. Doing so will minimize the damage from ramming

Naval combat is the most stressful and most boring experience of my whole life

Flame thrower ability on the front of your ship? Say what? I have all the DLC do you have to play some of it? I'm still in story.

These ships were known for their rams so that’s exactly what I use. I’ll be doing circles around them enemy ships and constantly hitting them and bracing.

Do the different crews do the same fight or can they fight different if so which one is better. The only problem Zi see is they only know the same songs. And have to tell them to shut up.

I've only just bought this game on xsx and my heart goes out to poor old ubisoft for every bad word and jaded review because this game is stunning. Evidence of the level of expertise these devs have achieved poors out of every moment of gameplay. Beautiful and amazing.

I tend to us the disable ships as shields if i am fighting more than one ship.

If only this game was never called Assassin's creed
Because there is less of the creed and Assassin's in the game unless u buy the dlc

How do u use the fire arrows

Hey man thanks for the video, new to the channel and game. Should I prioritise saving to upgrade my ship’s hull fully above all else or upgrade across all aspects as evenly as possible? Thanks in advance from the North East UK

So I'm on nightmare now and taking down the Skylla for the first time... I decided instead to use the isu forged assassin mace paired with the knife of dallwun (upgraded to level) then climbed aboard and 1 rush assassinate and you run through the entire ship in 1 fail swoop! :) SO much fun! That was a good tip about getting in a T position, I have yet to do that..

They should have kept health and damage range in two or three digits but boom thousands 😂😂

I found that slowing down can help u evade rams and even position ur self, fund the play style u like (I go in strong and fast defeating enemys as fast as possible, also u restote health over time)

Important tip note you should have mentioned: get to I think tier 4 mercenary and all your ship upgrade costs are reduced by 50%

So, it is better to board ships once they’re at low hell and fight...or just ram into them/sink them with javelins and arrows?

My personal combo if I have initiative is ram at high speed, 1-2 javelin volleys, then 3 arrow volleys. Then Brace and head away from enemy as they chase turn and loose fire arrows or javelins then head away again Fire 3 rapid arrow volleys head away, rinse and repeat works for me regardless of enemy level unless you get outnumbered in close proximity

I have the DLC but I don't have an option for a flamethrower. Is there something special that needs to be done first?

Playing black flag taught me all I need to know, Odyssey is just a dumb down version

Go for the weakest enemy link and ram their ship as hard as you can then throw a barage of arrows and spears then never forget to board each ship that you nearly destroyed as it restores health, then work your way up to the link of the ships until you finally beat the toughest one.. killing the weakest link first will give you an easy route as you will not take that much damage as when you go for the elites first, as attacking ships with larger health will result in longer fighting time and the weaker ships with have the benefit of adding injury to your ship..

Sometimes i just dont even fight the ships with my boat i just swim over and kill the marines then come back with my boat and cleave them
