My son, 45 had a head injury at work over 7 years ago, he take 13 pills a day for, most are low dose sedatives. I talk to him regularly about getting on less with his dr advice, but he's afraid of the issues he suffered at first, over 7 years ago. Of course his psychiatrist only medicates, sees him 15 minutes every 3 months🤔

Stop delivering Theory as fact. I know an enormous amount of people who have cured their depression by eating raw. And by the way there is no science to support that bacon will cure depression on long-term studies ❤

I had a DNA test done that showed I have MHTFR. I am on Lexapro 30 mg daily and Buspar 5 mg AM and PM. I have the heterozygous on the methylfolate and an elevated level of homocysteine.. I've read that L Methylfolate may help. Along with B 12. Do you believe this will help. I also have tried the low glycemic diet. I need to be more diligent with this.

I have lost at least a decade of my life on thinking I've lost myself, the Me I used to be. I used to be funny, social, optimistic, positive, people like being around me. I was blessed with a sense of humor so twisted and unholy you couldn't help but laugh. I turned into a depressed, antisocial introvert who started to hate the world and resent everyone on anything, lost the will to do the stuff I loved, lost the will to do anything pretty much, became bitter, negative... It affected my life, jobs, relationships, friendships that faded away.

Going carnivore literally saved my life, not only physically (got overweigth etc.), but my mind is like... I started to remember the person I used to be! And people noticed. I've had three people in the last 2 month come to me and say I seem like a different person, calm, not bothered, not negative anymore, a female colleague said last week she wished she could be as chill as me. I was shocked.

This has had so many incredible benefits for my life and body it's hard to describe. I sleep 7 hours a night! I don't have headaches 4 times a week. I can wear clothes I like. I have excellent bloodwork. I'm not hungry ALL THE DAMN TIME and don't feel tired and sleepy all the damn time. I can see myself having a future.

And it all started 10 months ago on this channel, by accident. I thought dr. Berry was a sectist crazy man :D But I like to hear what people who I don't agree with at first have to say in order to see their position and if they maybe have some good points. It took me a few weeks to really start to think maybe there's something to this. I searched for some more info, found dr. Chaffee, searched for people who said the complete opposite to see what they have to offer and with time I decided enough is enough, I'll just try. I do have a deep love of science and love to go into something properly.

If you do this - you won't regret it. Ever. I like eating what I eat, I look forward to it when I'm hungry, but I'm not controled by food anymore.

Man, was THIS informative. I've struggled with depression and lack of focus (increasingly) for the past 2 decades. I just thought it was normal, so I just ignored it; but in the last 5-6 years, I was often literally in tears, or verbally abusive, short-fused, sad, frustrated, etc. I had friends and family tell me that I had an issue, and I need professional help. When it gets to a point when those you love are saying this to you, it serves as a wake-up call. I was diagnosed and put on meds for my depression. My doctor was very compassionate, and actually listened and spoke to me for nearly an hour in his office, ending with a hug, and my prescription. I know his heart was in the right place, if not his science. Fast forward 4 years. My wife and I have been oscillating between Keto and Carnivore, and as the primary (only) cook, gardener and grocery shopper in this household, I primarily pursued these dietary lifestyles in order to reverse my wife's pre-diabetes. We've been on this way of eating for several months now (more carnivore-focussed in the last 2 months), and Suzanne will be going in for a blood test prior to her next hypothyroid medication appointment with her doctor. Hopefully those numbers will be down, as that was why we started eating this way. However, in the process, I have since taken myself off my depression medication (without Dr. assistance or advice, despite his warnings that I need to stay on it for at least 1 year, and it can only be reduced incrementally over time — I know you'd recommend against that, but your latest video was not out then, lol). I've been sleeping more soundly and completely; I've dropped some weight, and my high blood pressure issues seem to be on the way down. I am calm, content, more clear-minded and not nearly as 'triggered' as I used to be. I am still struggling with focus, self-flagellation and procrastination, however I am convinced that this will improve and be eliminated over time and prayer due to my recent changes in diet. Thanks to you, Dr. Berry, and to many others that have taken on the banner of how we fuel ourselves affects our metabolic system with disease prevention and healing (thank you also to Dr. Seyfried), but also how it eliminates the mental anguish that I have suffered with over the last two decades. My 88 year old mother-in-law is moving in with us, and she suffers with deep depression (wanting to die) and short term memory issues. My 3 other in-laws have been frustrated with her so it's now our turn to have her live with us for the next few months. I am going to make it my goal to demonstrate to my entire family how she can have her symptoms lessened and possibly eliminated by fuelling her with the Proper Human Diet. I will start her with Keto, then move to Ketovore. I'll try to keep you in the loop as to the outcomes. Wish me luck, and God bless you all.

@GeorgiaEdeMD Am off to buy your book today after this lovely interview. I was wondering if you have any insight into brain tumor recovery? I have a friend whose son is recovering from his 3rd brain surgery (has also done chemo and radiation at times) and is super depressed about life and his loss of ability to organize thoughts, speak, etc. He’s 32 and his mom is taking care of him, but doing plant based foods. She is pretty traumatized herself and very fragile over everything. Would your book be helpful potentially in this situation? Many thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I told him. He said he felt they were working so he wanted to leave everything as it was. Well I took myself off everything one at a time. And then never went back. Now 41 sober and rx free!!!!!

This is what happened to ME. I went to my primary care doctor and ended up telling her how much anxiety, panic attacks and depression episodes I was having. I started taking Effexor, it basically made me steady, I didn't have the deep depression episodes and panic attacks were nearly gone, but I also wasn't happy either, it was like I lost all my joy in order to not have the low lows. I was told I would be on it for the rest of my life and that didn't sit well with me. During that time I was having allergy testing and shots. As they were trying to dial in my allergy shots at one point they said I had to come off ALL my meds, even the effexor. I called my PC doctor and they sort of questioned it but then basically shrugged their shoulders and gave me a half dose for a few weeks and then I needed to come off it completely and I had such withdrawals that I was sick and throwing up and miserable. We just happened to also be away visiting my parents 12 hours away during the worst week of withdrawals so I was also trying to act "normal" because I didn't want my mom to know I was on meds for my depression. Years later I started Keto and after a year or so I started to realize that it was time to come off my meds but I did NOT want to just come off it like they had me do it last time and so I searched for myself. I am not recommending this to anyone but what worked for me and this particular medicine is that my med was the tiny beads in the capsules. So over the next nearly six months I would open the capsule and pull out 5 tiny beads for a week, then I would pull out 10 beads of each of the capsules I took for that week, then 15, etc. When I got down to being nearly done I had to slow it down to 3 additional beads being taken out a week and then for a couple weeks I did just one tiny bead out. Then I just quit and even though it was so extremely slow I still had some light withdrawal effects. I really wish I had learned about Keto way back in the day, unfortunately the closest I heard about it was the Adkins diet and I believed the news about how it was ruining everyone's kidneys and people were dying and going to the hospital. I believed the rumors and never looked into it for real. In fact my husband thought I was going to kill myself going Keto but then he started researching and he's a bigger advocate and vocal about it than I am.

Dr. Berry, my name is James Loveless. I am 34years old, just recently had some lab work done with my PCP and to be honest I'm definitely in panic damage control mode. I'm 5'7" between 195 and 200lbs. I understand BMI is based on height and weight. I'm far from obese. My labs came back with my BUN @ 22 and my Creatinine @ 1.3. My HDL was slightly low @ 37. LDL was within a normal range. However my Triglycerides were 443. I'm sure my PCP is going to want to put me on prescription meds. What can I do, what should I do? Any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Hope you see my message, thank you.

Psychiatric medications prescribed for her had horrific effects, both mentally and physically. My grandmother had a lobotomy in 1940 for depression. I’m so thankful for Dr Ede. Hazza! I went keto and now carnivore for my hypoglycemia, IR and prediabetes. All reversing after 40 yrs of dealing with it. It is working very very well. I can have small bouts of depression (not debilatating but measurable), mental stress, anxiety, and hadnt entertained that the diet would impact this in any way. I own and run my own company and assumed this went with that territroy. Well, this way of eating does impact all this. My stress levels are down, anxiet down and amazingly my emotional where with all has got very level, no real highs or lows. My brain fog also alleviated. Keep bringing this info to main stream, much needed.

It’s great to learn more and more about this revolution to restore function in people’s lives. My question looms, I’m wondering how the DIET ALONE truly treats the devastating, debilitating conditions of ipseity and negative “dearth” symptoms in disorders like schizoaffective, schizotypal, schizophrenia conditions. With these conditions there is (often) almost a lack of inflammation and oxidative stress, a lack of mood. I am glad these interventions are getting studied and completely agree that metabolic interventions like Exercise treat negative symptom conditions but wondering about diet specifically! I so far see the diet as more effective for bipolar, epilepsy, and schizophrenia positive symptoms but not the personality deficits, mood issues, isolation and anhedonia issues in SCZ
