hmm this didn't age well // just downloaded and installed Ryzen Master but it says the Ryzen 7 processor I have is not supported lol

still using my FX9590 and dual 480 nitro crossfire and working great.... bring on those 7nm Vega and Ryzen 7nm :)

if this processor is as great as you say it is then why does it need overclocking? everyone reviewing ryzen seems to have the urge to over-clock it WHY? this is becoming annoying now i wanna see what it can do as standard no oc no tweak AS IS from the box factory settings no cheating.

OCd stable to 3.9ghz on r7 1700.
I just got it and I am sure I got more headroom.

why do you need LN2 when the processor caps at 4.0ghz/1.38v @ 70C?

Wait. So, you can change the cores' voltage and clock speed, but amd still advise you not to change the core voltage?
Idk if it's just a thing with the reviewer's kit, but that seems fishy

So latest test show that 1800x 1700x and 1700 overclock to same ~4.1ghz. With decent board.
Why I would buy 500$ 1800x instead of same performance 1700x or 1700?

Good job AMD, you've made a CPU which is only slightly worse than an Intel CPU which has been around for a year. You better prepare yourself for a river of salty tears coming from your fanboys.

Having just blown £1200 on Ryzen, 1800x, Hero VI, G Skill 3200GHX. I very concerned it will only go to 4.0 before instability incurs (water cooled). Benchmarks not looking good for gaming ( unless streaming), even Doom gets worse scores then Intel. Got to admit, I am feeling a bit under whelmed, aside from price.

now just to fix that ram issue

@AMD I hope your manufacturing process will mature so you can reach higher clockspeeds. By now the 1800X is just pushed to the edge with no headroom (no reviewer reaching more than like 200Mhz over stock). One weapon as I can see is if your uarch can drive 2 or 4 cores at higher frequency with a process handling affinity software like Intel's Turbo boost Max 3.0. Of some reason gaming performance is lower than expected per core as you having a 4+4pipe design with large L2 caches, advanced branch and prefetcher. The load/store and MEM latency os maybe what you have to fix in AGESA or with Zen+. Thanks for Ryzen, all in all, an amazing processor. Focus on IPC now and Mike Clarks "low hanging fruit in Zen".

So far all the reviews i have seen have not been able to oc your Ryzen R7 seires cpus with more than 150(ish mhz) on air cooling and 150-200ish on AIO, why would we care about Gradulant controls and oc software, if your CHIPS cant OC ? also 65-70 Degrees on a noctua D12S and not overclocked, is NOT okey.

Plz tell me you can fix this with bios microcode updates and updated cpu revisions, cos i am sooo close to cancel my 1700x order. IPC for allmost all current games are not there compared to intels cheaper I5/I7 chips, and your DDR4 mem issues needs to be adressed or made so people know what mem to BUY and what setups that works, currently its a mess. I am very disapointed, i wanted a Athlon64 + A64 X2 experience again, and i highly doubt i will get that in Ryzens current state.
