So which press is the best?
ОтветитьHappy to see that my FREE RCBS stacks up to tite tolerances
ОтветитьDO NOT GET THE SUMMIT. Massive design flaw, I got it after this video, but the middle piece above the die has broken TWICE on me now. It is not reliable. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
ОтветитьWhich presses are able to take .338 Lapua Magnum? C.O.L 94mm = 3.7"
(Wonder also whether all length trimmers can do that length?)
Thanks a lot. Saved me time and headaches.
ОтветитьYears later i can get a new Frankford arsenal m press for 130$. The Forester is $340. That's a huge difference. Any opinions on which one is still the best deal?
ОтветитьHmmm. Use one of your pet loads for a accurate rifle and make the ammo with each press. Shoot 20 or 50 rounds for each on a great bench and very similar conditions. True results are what counts.
ОтветитьThe Summit being only $200 makes me mad I bought a Partner for $100. :/ Next time!
Ответитьi'm cheap and happy with my lee turret 4 hole
ОтветитьUR --> Well done video! Excellent tests and camera work. Just saw it today even though it was filmed 3 years ago. I saved my pennies and bought a used Forster/Bonanza Co/ax press via E-bay about 2 1/2 years ago. Much better that the Lee plastic & pot-metal press.
I was wondering why you did not test the serious C-H/4D "Champion" heavy duty, single stage press (Made in Ohio, U.S.A.). It will do case forming and bullet swaging besides regular reloading tasks.
thanks for all efforts
ОтветитьWell done with remarkable detail. I would like to see a similar review on progressive presses ( i. e Dillion, etc.).
ОтветитьThanks for making these videos! I know my customs get a lot out of these!
ОтветитьI've been using a RCBS Reloading since back in the 1960's and still have it as well as a few more mounted to my bench (5) Press's total for my caliber's now days. I wouldn't trade mine for any of those new things. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO GET GOOD AMMO TO SHOOT, PERIOD.
ОтветитьWow very thorough video as always.
ОтветитьHey Gavine
Can you do a video of the new Lee 6 pack pro 6000?
I’m surprised you didn’t test a Dillon press. I find it to be an excellent press.
ОтветитьWhat 410 reloading equipment do you recommend
ОтветитьThe Redding would blow ay of these presses out the water
ОтветитьIncredible nice video thanks allot!!! Is there a video for the reaload Die also? I think it's also a extrem important part for precision.
ОтветитьThank you for pointing what's made in the USA and what's imported. That's an important data point for me.
ОтветитьAmazing video
ОтветитьWhat is the name.of the bench you are using
ОтветитьI use 3 presses - the Lee breech lock to prep rifle cases only, then a Dillon 550B for both rifle and pistol, last a MEC JR 600 mark 5 for all my shotgun needs.
ОтветитьI'm looking to buy Hornady Iron Press and I wonder if this press is suitable for 300 PRC even with the low capacity (3.53" clearance for 3.700" COL)?
ОтветитьDude you ARE the Ultimate, insane reloader! Just mind-boggling, all that stuff you have.
ОтветитьI was going to watch this when I realized I have two presses now, a Dillon 550B and my original press a Lyman Spar-T which I got for Christmas around 1968 so not ready for a new press, maybe in 20 years. But I do respect the effort to scientifically evaluate the quality and functionality of these presses.
ОтветитьWell, i can appreciate all the time and effort you put into this, but it's simply just an overview without any real conclusion.
ОтветитьThis is really helping. I’m going to watch a second time.
Ответитьyou cant 100% compare
this things is hand worked so its not comparable
5 is not suitable for standard deviation or anything else
caliper is not accurate to more than +-0.02-+-0.04mm (mitytoyo) and for cheap tools even worse
same amount of force by hand
may i please continue
invalidated due to non scientific base
Why have country of Origin on the list, what has that got to do with the end item.
ОтветитьExcellent video and interesting to see how far you went to collect useful data.
Would be nice to see you test with the bigger dies that need 11/2 x12 threads such as the 577/450 dies as the large "old school" rounds are a bit different and certainly on 1 press it looked like they would not work at all.
As usual, outstanding job!
ОтветитьNice presentation, thank you very much. I've been contemplating retiring my ol RCBS Jr. press (it's served me well for close to 50 years) and getting something else. But what happened to Dillon? Did I miss the part with the blue press(s)?
ОтветитьExcellent,
thanks for all the work.
I have 2 Rockchuckers with the Hornady lock n load quick change bushings.
Would you Ben so kind, I’m looking for a press stand like yours .
Please post the manufacturer, thanks again.
Rj
Am I reading this correctly in the Rock Chucker having sone of the most consistent measurements, even better than the Co-Ax
ОтветитьI sure do hats off to you and all that create such in depth and great great videos….Thanks
ОтветитьWhat a wealth of information to get me started. Fantastic job!
ОтветитьOne of the most awesome videos in gun stuff topics! Great job!
ОтветитьOutstanding video.
Our equipment is LEE classic cast iron turret press. We fall into a budget driven hobby shooter needing multiple pistol & rifle rounds. We're happy with Lee.
Thanx for all your research work 😉.
Excellent video Gavin. Wow! So much effort.
ОтветитьVery thorough and informative video! Thank you very much! Do you have done one progressive presses?
ОтветитьYou are an excellent tester and I appreciate what you have accomplished here. It will be a huge help in my choosing a reloading press.
ОтветитьWell done and we’ll thought out presentation. Gave me much needed insight for a second press decision. Thank you!
Ответитьany chance you've done a video comparing die sets/quality... say in the 300 PRC cal?
ОтветитьIt is three years later. After watching your review of 14 reloading presses, I purchased the RCBS Summit reloading press. I went one step further by buying Hornady's Lock-N-Load Die Bushing 3-pack kit making die change over KISS! The RCBS Summit press is GREAT!
ОтветитьYou kind of lost me when you said "Ruger Precision" LMAO.
ОтветитьGreat job….way better in info than the progressive press shootout…this info is way more relevant so thank you. A sizeable effort, well done.
ОтветитьSeeing how poor the LNL varients performed, I can't help but wonder if the bushings are adding a degree of freedom to the process. I would love to see the LNLs tested without the bushings. Thanks for all of your work
