I have wanted to like Tesseract from their first album. The problems I've had with them since then haven't gone away. As a hated critic, Tesseract, thankyou for another church album but im going to say something that will make you better.
1) overproduced and too clean. Attempting to mimic the 'clean Tool sound' but they do not have the darkness or power that Tool have - and that makes the music sound weak since now you're not only NOT a dark band but you sound too clean
2) too many up and down lulls with pretty vocals. No logic to some of these drops. It builds tension then they suddenly want to have a pretty ballet. This album seems to be written around the vocals and not that the vocals are written to the music. Stop doing this. I keep getting the impression the words don't fit the music in places, and the guitarist doesn't seem to know how to continue driving this music forward so that the vocals don't halt the momentum. Vocals and guitar should fit like Tetris but within Tesseract they do not. They are at contrast and not in unity. Also a song should escalate to something, not fade into obscurity. Some of these lulls are like a c*ck dying in the ar$e.
3) some unnecessary soft-rock stylised music techniques applied such as vocal effects that I think rob it of an organic feel.
4) the drummer is too tame. I think he's a real weakness to driving the music but it's just not exciting at times. imagine Ken Schalk at the drums? Mike Smith? Drummer is not differentiating himself and has no tricks. Learn some and get more flair. A good drummer will speak the anger that the vocalist cannot exhibit as he thinks being clinical is the ideal singing voice. There can only be one Maynard or Scott Weiland and everyone else needs some tricks up their sleeve.
Probably their 'best' album, but the issues with it tell me they have a mediocre producer and they themselves are being overly cautious with their approach. Make it raw. Stop being softc*cks. You need something drastic, like covering your studio with mud, putting blindfolds on and play with a gun to your heads. Produce some power, not a softc*ck lullaby.
more trigger guys. it will sound better.
ОтветитьWhat a great band! I just discovered you recently..keep it up! -TN ✌️
ОтветитьKick ass, now end the destruction of our chosen few.
ОтветитьNot only the best songs on the new album, but one of the greats at all from TesseracT. Bow your knee
ОтветитьIt's real good. It is on loop. The song cannot let go of me. "There is your Englishman. Right there" : )
ОтветитьWOW MOM WOW
ОтветитьSaturn Cube
ОтветитьThis is my favorite
Jay lays back a little in this one
BUT when that pause happens & that beautiful harmonic bridge happens
Jay MADE SURE the bring back was hard and brought that same feeling with that short roll
The thing I love about Jay is that sometimes you can somewhat feel when he lets go & enters into the realm outside of this world
Really nailed the sound on this one, great balance
ОтветитьSaw them live in Saint Louis this past weekend. Hands down. Best show I have ever seen, please come back
ОтветитьYo a tesseract "cheerful sounding" song? Holy crap!!
Ответить❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 Enormes...

Интересно, с каких пор можно послушать в России?
ОтветитьFrontman Daniel Tompkins says, "The concept of "Echoes" is based around one of our main characters, 'El' and 'The Scribe.' They play a major part in the concept and game as The Scribe is a splintered part of El's ego that has the ability to control destiny and rewrite the past."
He continues, "This has always been a hard-hitting song and it adds a real dynamic to the album. As a stand-alone track, it exudes feelings from the heights of euphoria but also the depths of desperation. There's a real sense of frustration and regret throughout, especially as the song climaxes with its brutal admission."
My fav song of the album. Can't wait to see you live!
ОтветитьIt's strange to hear this one out of context. It blew me away the first time I heard it on the album. I love the contrast of it following on from Natural Disaster.
Ответитьmaybe i'm drunk but this is way more beautiful clip that i saw in the last few years
ОтветитьAlbum Of The Year... Absolutely Phenomenal Work...
Ответить☺ the opening riff + melody is the perfect way to start the 2nd song of an album, so they did great on the song order front 😎 I remember feeling so pumped for the ride to come, when I heard this for the first time after the slower long-note ending of Natural Disaster
ОтветитьDaniel you are phenomenal talent you an the band an you are an awesome singer an I love ya guys an looking forward to the album an happy I just discovered you guys an subscribed to your channel after your last single legion 😊
ОтветитьAmazing album and a great singer. Shame about the guitar tones which sounds the same along the album. There is an interested interview with Steven wilson and niko about how great guitar players forget to tone the guitar sound accordingly to the mood of the track. Maybe they should listen to that interview. This band are amazing but they could be way better
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ответитьanyone else feeling like the lyrics were written by an AI?
ОтветитьI thinks it’s an atrocity to even box these guys up as “djent”. They’re way beyond that. They’re tesseract. Their own sub-genre of groove prog-metal.
ОтветитьNice❤
ОтветитьThis pearl 'war of being' is defently the album of the year! It swings my soul and push my heart beat ❤
ОтветитьNo filler.. Every song on this album is a banger.
ОтветитьDamn you guys are freaking talented. This is good to hear, all your songs are super unique. I hope you guys stick around.
ОтветитьCool visuals.
ОтветитьI would dig it if these guys were to come to Welcome to Rockville!!🔥🤘killer tune!!
ОтветитьCan they get more incredible?
ОтветитьOne masterpiece, a beautiful album and heavy Djent, I loved it. Big shout out to my boy Asiel for the incredible job on this lyric video. Big HI from Cuba 🇨🇺 to Tesseract, you guys killed it with this album
