I bought a car two years ago that only had one working (combined) remote key and a valet key. I had looked into getting another remote when I bought the car but decided to wait. Last week I came across this video and realized that if I didn't get another (combined) remote key made before something happened to the old one that I would probably have to go to the "stealership" to get remote keys made. I decided to give this service a try including the "Key by Photo" option. I received the key in 4 to 5 business days as promised on the website. When I compared the new key to the old one I was concerned that it wouldn't work because it was not cut exactly as the old one. However, I remembered they have a "100% satisfaction guarantee". I tried the new key in the door lock as instructed in this video, and the new key worked. Using the programming device they send with the key. I was able to successfully add the new key. I'm a happy customer. Thank you for sharing this video.

There are places specialized on key fob cars charge the same price 100 to 115, places specialized in car alarm and accessories installation.

My car does not have a key hole on the door handle. Can I skip that part & still use this method?

Folks you do not need a smart phone. Order a key for your vehicle from ebay,get it cut from local locksmith and do the rest. But before you order, the first step is to find out if your vehicle make and year will allow you to do this on board programming. Some newer vehicles won't let you.

I can promise you it gets expensive with a Volkswagen. I lost my key fob and it was my only key. No one but a dealer will touch Volkswagen’s. I’ve tried everywhere including online. My car was locked when I lost key. I have to have my car unlocked and towed to dealership. I have to order key and have them program it. Total cost right around $600. Makes

As a locksmith prior to my ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke, I made a key one time using a Xerox copy machine. I had a lady that her worn key had broken in half. He was able to retrieve the broken blank and she made me a Xerox copy of the two have’s. I looked up my code cards, found her vehicle and guesstimated according my visual on the paper. I cut the key, and it did work. Over the years even I would say a prayer, and the good Lord has gotten me out of a jam when I was in over my head.

Back in July I found out about Tom's Key to get a second key for a Jeep I had just purchased.
I had to use the OB2 programmer. I only had a little trouble because you have to get in the car and close the door and THEN insert the OB2. I'm 65 and not as flexible as I once was, I finally was able to get it in and everything else was super easy.
I would recommend this if you lost one of your keys or just need another one.

I just use a crow bar when I need a car
