while this is a good explaination of what pH and acidity is on a basic level, alkaline water does nothing to change the pH of the human body. we have organs for that. like our liver, kidneys, and our lungs. when water is absorbed, it is taken to the bloodstream, where the liver and kidney filter and neutralize it. removing toxins, and either removing or ignoring alkaline substances depending on how acidic or alkaline the blood is, thus regulating the pH of our bodies. when our blood is too alkaline, our respiratory system will also expel less carbon dioxide, leaving it in the blood and as a result making it more acidic. when ingesting water that is more alkaline than our bodies, like your filters claim to make, you are forcing your organs to work harder to maintain the usual pH than they otherwise would. your kidneys have to deliver more alkaline materials to your intestines, to be expelled from your body later in the bathroom.

our bodies do not build up a deficit of alkaline materials, either. between eating, drinking, and simply removing acidic material from our blood, our organs have everything they need without us paying for alkaline water. in the cases where you have legitimate acidosis, this water is not any form of treatment. you need to see a medical professional and get real treatment.
