Was wondering if I could sign in and use Google Voice and if it could be sandboxed away from everything else to maintain privacy?

Have you tested the phone (with Graphene) while monitoring through wireshark? Technically its possible for google to implement tracking in the firmware. Have you tested that by connecting it with lan and booting. If its tracking baked into the firmware you should be able to see it connecting to it in the wireshark monitoring.

So I can basically use this OS on my pixel 5?

I have got a unlocked P8P coming , i have no clue how to do this , im afraid i would mess it up , but id like to do it.

So graphene already supports 8 pro! that is cool. I was condering get this phone specifically because I hoped graphene would support it.

Even if someone doesn't care about the privacy aspect of this, then they should still do this because all the telementry in default Android drains battery life, so installing Graphene will actually make your phone last longer

I've been thinking about switching to GrapheneOS, but your video makes it really easy. 1. Does it void my warranty 2. Does Graphene have a Wallet or Pay feature or can I just from Google's Play Services. Thank you!

I've been using GrapheneOS on my Pixel 8 for a week now. The 2 major issues I've been having is the Capital One app access by fingerprint login not working and receiving no notification on incoming calls the first time. Never had these issues when I was using CalyxOS on my Pixel 3a XL. I understand Pixel 8 is still new so maybe there will be updates to fix these bugs. The compatibility option didn't work.

As far as I’m concerned, if there is information you wouldn’t want the government collecting on you, then you shouldn’t allow big corporations to collect it either because the government simply partners with those big companies to collect that information on their behalf.

btw, the Profiles do not block tracking by IMEI or phone number (SIM or eSIM). Once google system knows your IMEI/SIM-card, it can track you across profiles (any one of those that need access to Internet and/or access to Google systems). Just FYI for newbies, OP knows this.

The biggest issues for most people are banking apps, esp. the ones that check for SafetyNet, bootloader and access to GMS. Banking is basic requirement, even for nomadic people. And no, I don't mean using your credit card inside the Google Wallet, but just using your bank's own app for money transfers and account management.

Unfortunately the sharpness of the showed displays isn't so good (autofocus of your GoPro?), but for beginners there is the “pause” function on YT, right? 😉
Important, this time not showed detailed: don't forget to lock the boot loader again after installing GrapheneOS!
This is also a great advantage of GrapheneOS, because other custom roms can't do this – they aren't so secure.

Well explained. Me, am not actually worried about whatever tracking happens on my iPhone since there is nothing at all incriminating in what I do and since there are a few conveniences if 'they' know my preferences and interests. 'They' is just some algorithm, there is no human who cares a whit about wasting time tracking me :)
