Damn I forgot how good jet lis English was by then, and this was 19 years ago. Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan cannot be duplicated. Not just their physical skills, but also their unique personality, style and just their auras in general. Bruce is Bruce, the master, but Jet also has his personality which is very chill and happy. You would think that Jacky Chan is also like that but in reality it is the opposite. He is very serious when working and a perfectionist and can come off as threatening or scary. I remember seeing him filming a scene decades ago in Melbourne, and he seemed very scary between takes and not easily approached. Haha.

But don't get me wrong, he is a legend of film and martial arts forever regardless of what happens off screen.

But to me he is the least skilled or least serious when it comes to martial arts. He is more of a comedian/actor that also trained in martial arts, while jet li was Chinese national wushu champion and is not just good at hand to hand fighting or different styles from hard to soft, internal to external, north to south styles, etc, but he is also extremely skilled at weapons, even can use whips, rope darts, swords, spears, sticks, umbrellas, feather dusters, everything. And I don't mean in slower, fun comedy way where each attack is very exaggerated and has a set tempo where both fighters will stick to that tempo which is what Jacky usually does, but in a realistic, fuck you up in one second style and you wouldn't even see the move before you are dead.

And Bruce Lee is Bruce Lee. No need to say more on why he's a better or more skilled martial artist and is ranked first for being a real material artist and the most skilled.. although jet is probably better at weapons play than Bruce since weapons are a big part of wushu.

This was from 2005 and you notice his English has gotten way better. Now it’s 2024 I can only imagine how much better it’s gotten! He’s amazing!

Funny how most shows never really knew how to talk to ex-martial arts champions/actio film stars. Not even to understand that Li was a "forms champion" (set of moves) and not a "tournment fighter". So they asked him questions as if Li was a "fighter"....

I found him kind of out of place in LW3 becaue he was one of the shortest cast members and I think looked like "a boy" (not a MAN). And he had to look tugh an dangerous being a henchman. Hard to sell. And if you had to nitpick---what Gibson's character was trained in as a Vietnam Vet was more practical than what Li's character knew ...which was "WuShu" known for their "forms" not "fighting"...you'd think "Riggs" would have given Li some trouble....anyway...Nothing againt Li....have more respect for him than Bruce Lee (never competed)....

In the movie the Mummy Dragon... He portrayed a cruel character and the way he used his eyes to portray cruelty was on point, it gave me the shivers. He is a good actor.

Bruce Lee and jet li is what got me interested in marital art's as a young kid their skills are extraordinary .. and the fact that am born with natural fast reflexes it supports my skills very well for me..
