An external recorder, i.e. the Atomos Ninjia V, paired with a modern mirrorless camera such as the Sony Alpha 7III saves excellent production formats such as i.e. ProRes and DNxHR. An internal camera codec is perhaps limited to 100Mbit/s. Does a production format make a difference when uploading to YouTube? Yes, especially when applying heavy color grading.
