Here's an interesting related point: Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son was killed by a squib misfire while making a movie. A round had lodged in the barrel and then a 'blank' round was fired sending the projectile forward with enough energy to cause lethal damage to Lee. A sad but true situation.
ОтветитьI fucking got three squibs today. fuck armscor
ОтветитьIf that shot didn’t sound or feel right, it probably wasn’t. Clear the firearm and check it before you shoot another round.
ОтветитьI had one of these in a smith 4046 while doing my leo semi annual qualification. The bullet went halfway down the barrel. When it was cleared, i saw the casing split down the side.
ОтветитьHay thanks man!! I did not know that and it makes total sense! I now know what to "listen" (look) for!
ОтветитьWhat do you do when you get a squib and you pushed it down the barrel, would the barrel need maintenance?
ОтветитьA bird pooped into my gun once. It was a squab load.
Ответить2nd time shooting my mp5 22lr. I had shot it quite a bit on the first out and cleaned it when I got home and put it away. Next day I go to the range and the first shot has a weak report and I didn't see a hit on the target at 15 yds. I asked the range guy for a rod to check the barrel, we check, no obstruction, I go on my way and it runs smooth the rest of the day. Took 60 seconds to make sure I didn't blow my new gun up in my face. If something doesn't sound, look, feel, or seem right, just check. Especially on a pistol that takes 2 seconds to field strip, there is no excuse there. I almost let myself get away with not checking since stripping the thing isn't super easy and I knew I needed a rod to check, but I'm glad I had the discipline to check even though there wasn't an obstruction.
Ответитьthis is a great safety video. if possible, it would be great to add a link to "hang fire" videos, where they pull the trigger, and like 5-30 seconds later we get full ignition. when you get a squib load, be sure to keep that thing pointed down range for at least 20-30 seconds. you just never know if it might save your face this time.
ОтветитьI had one the other day first time luckily it was revolver the bullet got between the cilinder and barrel so i couldnt turn the cilinder
ОтветитьI'm assuming the same danger doesn't exist with any type of "shot", as in bird-shot or buck-shot. I KNOW, STOP SHOOTING and clear the barrel. Logically, though, an obstruction can't occur with a multi-pellet round, correct? Is there a documented case of a shotgun buck-shot squib and the NEXT round caused an explosion? Inquiring minds...
ОтветитьWhat causes guns to explode? Ignorance.
ОтветитьDon’t reload lol people are paid good money to precisely load correctly
ОтветитьThe necessary evil 😈 of loving guns and shooting guns..
ОтветитьKnow a guy whose .357 exploded, copped 12,500 from taurus.30 years ago or so.
ОтветитьRound gets stuck in barrel, will explode every time. Like the two spitballs in a straw rammed down on table with a rod makes straw explode.
ОтветитьI loaded a squib once. Got away from the experience better than any but the last guy too.
I was putting together some trap loads when I got distracted and missed dropping powder in a cartridge. Years later, while shooting clays, the shotgun said "clack" instead of "BOOM" and a small grey cloud of shot pellets arced out of the muzzle and fell to the dirt about 25 feet away. Left the wad in the bore too.
Mokeless powder hadtolayerdownhossgobless
ОтветитьYou forget to mention hangfire.
It could also start with "audible pop".
Thus correct assumptions order should be:
1. Hangfire (hold 30-60 seconds for delayed fire), do not cycle, do not examine cartridge
2. Squib load (cycle, examine cartrige and/or barrel)
3. Misfire or "mis-cycle" (bullet fired out, but weapon failed to cycle, due low charge or mechanical issue).
You don't even need a SQUIB load to do this with a Hi-point.
ОтветитьGood one. good thing I wear eye protection.
ОтветитьGreat, a video about lethal weapons that no civilian should be allowed to own.
ОтветитьIm wondering is this reason enough to not get a revolver since next cartridge will for sure still be up next
ОтветитьMunição velha armazenada incorretamente ou ficam treinando com munição real isso pressa o projétil pra isso q existe munição De MANEJO pra vc não explodir seu cano 😂😢😮😅😊
ОтветитьI've been shooting for decades, but have not experienced a squib load, YET. It's bound to happen eventually, so it's a good to keep that in the back of your mind. It could save a life!
ОтветитьAmazing this isn’t talked about more
ОтветитьWhere’s my barrel
ОтветитьWow never knew this glad to know thank you
ОтветитьAll guns in civilian hands should do that.
ОтветитьIn the starting video the optic mount on m16 does anyone know the name of that optic?
ОтветитьHow do you manage to get a squib load on a snubnose??? Theres so little place to get stuck!
ОтветитьI've seen that last video. good stuff haha
ОтветитьExplodirende Revolver & Gewehre erinnern mich immer an Lucky Luke.
ОтветитьWow I never know about this. I was in the army and training in CCL but no one has ever told me. It’s good to learn something new!
ОтветитьThanks. That could turn out to be live saving
ОтветитьIs this common with reloads ? Has anyone had this problem with factory new ammo?
ОтветитьOur 249 Gunner in Iraq had a squib gun exploded in his face in a gunfight lost his right eye most of his front teeth and his hearing in his right ear
ОтветитьWhat if this happens in auto-mode? :P
ОтветитьFarcry 2:
ОтветитьI still wonder if it was a Squib round propelled by a blank cartridge on the Movie set, that has Alex Baldwin in Hot water ?
🤔....?
i have been shooting/gun owner since 1964, and veteran, i fired probably 10k or more rounds, including my own reloads, and never had a squib, my son, an iraqi war vet & reitred Army had 1 today!...i will not only be counting my shots as i always do, but paying more ATTENTION to each round fired! thank you for this video!
ОтветитьWould weighing your factory bullets to ensure they are exactly what they are supposed to be alleviate this issue of lack of powder?
ОтветитьHighly doubt the muzzle loader was a 'squib' and simply not an over-charge.
Same with the garand, using modern ammo could also be the culprit.
Good video nonetheless.
Is why I only shoot bolt and lever action rifles and revolvers
Much safer
Thanks I'll give you credit for helping me with a better name for a tanted round for our games
ОтветитьThis video should be shown to everyone owning a firearm.
