Hello, I'm new here I've watched three of your videos, im so so confused, i have no idea what you're talking about 😖😭
What do I do? Please help 🙏🏾
In the first minute can faintly hear the chords from the Simon and Garfunkel song Bookends:
Old friends
Old friends
perfect 2 note example
It's always a plus if you can hit a note not in the chord or scale of the song and make it work.
Ответитьstudents of music ,,, do not fear the score,,, its your friend, go make friends its not a accademic monster, its beautiful and logical. enjoy
Ответитьi usually do this subconsciously, nice stuff🐄🛸
ОтветитьI though I was the only person on Earth that said :headbrain"
ОтветитьSuch an expensive knowledge for free? ...Thanks alot ..I'm grateful 😍
ОтветитьKeep it up. I'm very passionate about writing and everything to do with it.
ОтветитьCRAZY, THANSKS!
ОтветитьHey man, I've been binge watching your videos lately and I was wondering if you had any tips on writing a good bridge melody.
ОтветитьExtremely informative! I like that you provide examples too. It makes me analyze a bunch of other songs now just to see if I can identify the "tricks". Thank you for this content!
ОтветитьThis is brilliant!! .... great discussion, explains a lot. Explains a lot of what I've been chasing
ОтветитьThis also applies for instrumentation! A good song is full of non chord notes and their resolution. And really, thats one of the biggest hurdles for beginners singing and composing only on the chord notes
Ответитьlove your stuff man! have been a fan ever since you started your channel. i have a request though. i know rap isn't your preferred genre to study but, could you get into some techniques or patterns you notice in some popular and critically acclaimed records like "To Pimp a Butterfly" by Kendrick Lamar? i've been trying to do that myself and i'd love to see what you think?
ОтветитьHey! Your videos are really helpful.... its a request can you tell me what should be the thought process while writing lyrics.... like how to not stop at one spot and have something in mind for writing in the next verse..!!
ОтветитьI feel like Chino Moreno in his work with the Deftones, it's all app and no release at the end of a lot of his phrases. You would know better than I do though!
ОтветитьGreat content man. I think it would be way better if the notes would be displayed on a normal music staff with the chords above. But your videos are full of cool ideas. Thanks again.
Ответить"Check out THIS video for more info on the subject!"
What video?🤨
Also your video often cut off prematurly at the end before your even doen speaking. What's with that?
I am a genuine fan btw
Love the channel. A fresh discovery. I’m longing for some on the nose pop examples when explaining these concepts as that’s my field and it seems most current/relevant in many regards, but still, great content.
ОтветитьNew to the channel but already 4 videos in, great content!
ОтветитьThis is awesome. Watched it three time and think I need three times more. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
ОтветитьAnother top class video !
ОтветитьIf you need an app or a “trick” to write a song or worthwhile melody than please just stop. You’re not meant to do this. There are too many untalented people flooding the world with mediocre music right now. Find a different hobby. Seriously.
ОтветитьWhat software are you using to see the notes in the melody over the chord number? Thats a massively helpful tool for analyzing melody!
Ответитьyour content is very informative, thank you!
ОтветитьAlways great tips! Thanks for sharing! You could combine this tension trick with another one you've posted before, having a big jump up to your chorus, using a big attention grabbing tricks with your non-chord tone
ОтветитьGreat vid, thanks mate
ОтветитьLove your stuff man
ОтветитьGreat videos, I binged all your stuff.
