This is a very good video explaining star citizen and its flight system, but one small tip for everyone who has a QWERTZ keyboard, the freelook button is Y not Z
Z will make you leave your ship, watch out for that.

Didn’t watch this before getting in my ship and randomly started spinning in space and had to spam buttons till i shot a missile and it slowed me down

Excellent guide! Coming over from Elite Dangerous, I find Star Citizen's HUD and flight system a bit hard to get used to and this guide does an outstanding job of explaining it. Thanks again!

Another thing that helps alot for me (I'm new) but you can hot key the request to land/launch. It's under keybind advanced controls - flight movements - scroll all the way down and slot it. Then you just press the key twice.

Okay.. So I just learned that you can quantum travel to adjacent targets, and then cancel the quantum(hold b again) when you are beside your target. Making it quicker to get to your point.

I've had auto land land me upside down.
I still laugh when I remember it

The basic controls are straightforward enough, but holy hell man all the keybinds are utterly overwhelming. The targeting seems downright convoluted. Wish you'd do a kinda of intermediate video highlighting the most important advanced controls.

I love the dropping speed limiter to like 7m/s. I bomb it out of the bays at like 300 cause of the ravens acceleration and size lmao

They ever get the bugs worked out, all the other space mmo's will be in serious trouble.

But 3.17 didn't release until Late April 2022...

In reality, you could also turn without using RCS thrusters, by using a control moment gyroscope. That can turn the ship by spinning up and slowing down.
