Born and raised in PA. I remember when they built the first wawa near me. Before that all we had was 7-Eleven everywhere. Wawa originated from a family owned dairy farm in Delaware County PA. They expanded and opened the successful franchise we have today. I've visited the original dairy farm about 10 years ago.

You can fit 20 wawas inside a Texas Bucees. Bucees rules the gas stations

On the west now miss my Wawa 10x better then these gas stations 💯

Wawa is successful because it has freshly made sandwiches and hot food, somewhat like 7-11 in Japan. Other gas stations have at best microwavable food.

I moved to France and I miss Wawa so much. It is possibly the only thing I properly miss from the US.

I was born and raised outside Philadelphia but moved to the Washington, DC area. When hiking with friends in the Virginia mountains, I usually grab an early morning sandwich and other comfort items at the Wawa in Haymarket. Those driving with me look at me with some confusion until we eat lunch on the trail, and everyone starts looking at my gas station Italian hoagie with peppers versus their homemade PB&J. One person sometimes forgets to pack lunch and eat my extra sandwich intended for later, and everyone looks at me jealously.
