dawg quetzales are from guatemala not Costa Rica. El Quetzal is my country's national bird, our legends speak of it and its origin, but it's never been from Costa Rica

as far as I know, the quetzal in Costa Rica is a sub-specie which is a little smaller than the Guatemalan quetzal

People arguing about where this bird is from. This bird is all over Central American like most birds they have wings so they will fly wherever they want. But they are Guatemala’s National bird. Just because it’s Guatemala’s nation bird doesn’t mean it resides there most of the time ! It’s a bird!! Idk why some of y’all are arguing about to being in Costa Rica and not Guatemala. I’ve seen them in both countries but point is i look at it and see Guatemalan history 🇬🇹 it is stunning no matter where it’s at☺️
