ОтветитьHow does one create a UDIM tile structure AND one shader node for the entire model once brought back into their 3D program?
My supervisor would like to see me utilize the UDIM workflow, while also providing him with one shader node for an entire model. I've seen texture layouts that accomplish this, but have thus far been unable to do it myself.
It seems my enabling Preserve UV Tile Layout is being ignored and reverting to individual Texture Sets, as when the project opens I see one Texture Set for each tile, whereby on your end I see each UDIM grouped, thus painting across tiles is possible, settings in Properties are global, etc. What might I be missing there, something in the file naming? Thanks.

I've getting an error when loading a 23 tile model.
How do you think this will handle a 100 UDIM asset even if I'm doing it in 1k each? It's a pretty decent computer but no RTX. Love using substance on personal projects :')

ОтветитьYou can paint across UDIMs now but you can't paint across materials like you used to do before. Removing a limitation but adding a new one 👌

ОтветитьWes, was the dragon model all a single mesh, with each texture set just being a separate Material assignment? I'm just trying to be clear in my mind the separation between Object/Mesh, Surface/Material, and then UV maps/tiles.

Ответитьi really don't know why still not supporting UDIM, i can only see selected Material UV not all, here we can see all UV sets but i can only see selected.

Substance may to have new voxelization techology and 3d modeling community .And new feelings in hand-painting by using their brush engine.Thank you very much for this UDIMS path!
This is all awesome, but can Substance create UDIMs tile sets in an organized way from within the application from a mesh with no UVs?

My project was on the last version before this, so I'm trying to use this method to fix my seams, I have maps in different texture sets. How do I change it so I can paint across on all my maps? Please help!

I am testing it here, I made a simple sphere with 4 udims, I am seeing some edge seams when using tri-planar on the noises, very visible on metallic material.
Another issue I am having in this new version is with the fill icons and mask. It doesn't show the colors anymore, just an fill icon. Can't we just have it back to the way it was before? Just show the fill color square.
Other than that, is is an amazing improvement.Can't wait to see more.

ОтветитьAfter years of using Substance Painter in all of my projects, I am happy as HELL!! I have a character that uses UDIMs and I am guessing I will have to create the project again (don't know if I can update it). I'll HAPPILY restart my project to use the new workflow...
