How are you changing ISO if you only have 800 and 2500 as options?
ОтветитьSuch a shame you can’t turn off noise reduction
ОтветитьThat guy that claimed it had no dual base was a silly guy and he deleted his video.
ОтветитьIs iso 800 with nd filter in bright light better than iso 100?
ОтветитьI need an actual test for me to convinced
ОтветитьThanks, useful test.
Ответитьmakes sense why I found it hard to tell the difference in noise from 2000 to 2500.
ОтветитьI wanna kiss u
ОтветитьGreat Video, as a Sony A7SIII and FX30 owner i would be sooo pumped to see your prores Raw post-production workflow ❤
Ответить.
Ответитьdo you mean that when not doing the internal noise reduction, 2500 is cleaner than 2000? if so, then that means they apply less incamera noise reduction on 2500 than on 2000? why would they do that? why not apply same level of in camera reduction on 2500 as on 2000, so that its actually visible without external recorder?
ОтветитьThnks for the video :) what are the base and dual iso when filming with S CINETONE? Help me please put 😎
ОтветитьThanks - I'm still unable to record ProRes RAW with my Ninja V - latest firmware, ProRes RAW activated. The Ninja V shows no input. The camera is set to S Log3 - 4k - [XAVC S-I 4K] , and [Rec Frame Rate] is set to [24p]
ОтветитьNice review
ОтветитьI am curious on how to use catalyst browse to how to adjust ISO to get the right exposure in running gun situations. I do not want to manually change the exposure but instead access the metadata.
I’m guessing this is possible. Can you make a video on that. Explaining the workflow?
I’m guessing we will see a better picture quality doing it this way instead of using flexible ISO in camera. 🤔
Which cameras has Sony officially announced as having Dual Base Iso? They all belong to the cinema line and are:
a. VENICE (500 & 2500)
b. FX9 (in cine ei mode 800 & 4000)
c. FX6 (800 & 12800)
d. FX3 (800 & 12800)
e. FX30 (800 & 2500).
No other Sony camera has DUAL BASE ISO.
It's obvious why there isn't a wider range between 800-2500, for the FX30:
It is apsc sensor and costs ONLY 1800.😉😉
Ultimately, and since there is no such thing as a "PERFECT CAMERA", what one must ask is:
How much do I need low light shots at iso 2500 AND UP, AND HOW MUCH AM I WILLING TO PAY, to get a more "professional" result? ...
The Real Problem of Sony's Dual ISO is When YA Change The ISO, Overall Color Scheme Would Change DramaticaLly & Hediously EspeciaLly When YA Shift for Higher ISO in One Project That Would End up in Disaster let Alone Noise Explosion❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
And Base ISO 800 Recommended by Sony is Problematic that Necessitate YA to Use ActuaLly 4 Stops Lowering ND Filter that ReaLly Affects The Overall Image Quality in Unfavorable Fashion ❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕
And What is Worse for FX30 Exposure Value Changes in Drastic Fashion When YA Change Shooting Mode Such As Picture Profile Even When YA See to it on Screen Exposure is Right ❗️
This is Pretty Serious Problem ❕❕❕❕❕❕❕❕
As is The Often Case with Sony's GARBAGE MIRRORLESS, It is Recommended to Shoot +2 Exposure Compensation that Means Sony's High-End Mirrorless' Durability of Higher ISO Such As α7S III & FX3 is Not That GOOD As Advertised & Publicized They Look Good because of Pixel Binning.
Thank you for making this my friend
ОтветитьThank you for clarifying this mess around the dual base iso. Great work!
It's kinda funny to read comments and see the Dunning–Kruger effect is among us😀
Interesting. So that one guy’s finding is actually true since he was testing internal recording…
Ответитьwhy would they lie?
ОтветитьIf i have to use ND filter on fx30 so is there any option like in sony full frame cameras ?
ОтветитьI thought dual base is only available in Cini EI because you only get 800 & 2500
ОтветитьWaaooo! Sony could have claimed infinit number of base iso's spread close to each other and would have been fine. What a stupid marketingg strategy! Dual based ISO's that don't make any difference!
ОтветитьI think that people are concern more about, when camera companies advertised one thing but don't really tell you all about it, they should have tell in their ads, something like it has dual base ISO only when you shot in raw externally, and is nothing to do with the camera being bad, is a really good camera, and the low light capabilities are still good, not A7s3 but still good. Example the GH6 it has dynamic range bust but they did say that it will not work in all modes, obviously I think sony did it to get more people to buy the camera. Similar to what happened to canon with the R6 and R5, canon ads where all about R6 can shot up to 60 fps 4k ff and R5 8k but they didn't talk about the overheating issues up front. This companies have to realize that people will always buy their cameras anyway, there is no need to lie about features.
ОтветитьSo Sony wasn't fully transparent about the dual ISO. According to your test, it works as it should only when shooting RAW externally. I also own the FX30, but coming from a bmpcc4k, even when shooting in Pro-res (not raw), you can definitely see the improvement when going from the first ISO base to the second. This is a little disappointing. I'm happy with the FX30, but this is kind of a bummer.
