Why Minecraft capes don't feel special anymore..

They need to add back the minecon skin pack back to bedrock

Expect for bedrock players you couldn’t get the migrator cape

its just a cosmetic item it shouldnt matter

I'm probably going to be the black sheep here, but honestly I really wanted a cape all the way back to 2013 and was soooo happy to get one in 2021 at long last, even though it's super common. Although I really wanted one I also didn't really appreciate them much back then because they were just TOOOOO rare. So rare that it was basically a pointless cosmetic since I knew a lot of people who had played Minecraft for over 5 years and didn't even know about the existence of capes within Java they were literally that rare. So having some capes come through now that others can get for a limited time (and importantly not indefinitely!!) not only makes people notice them more and appreciate them more but it also makes people (at least me anyway) appreciate all the older rare ones too since they're a rare design but not a rare cosmetic. Andddd not to mention account hacking will significantly go down.

Wanting to gatekeep capes is kind of weird imo. The previous Minecon capes are still just as rare. Just let people be happy with at least 1 cape on their account.

In a way a free cape can be a big motivator for people to get back into playing Minecraft again and Mojang probably has statistics to back this up, so expect more easily accessible capes releasing at least 1 - 3 times a year.

Honestly, this is my first creeper cape, since I first started Minecraft 3 years ago… It was pretty special to me honestly…

Minecraft has sold almost (even maybe) over 300 million copies all over the world. And most "common" cape is the Migrator cape for now with 5 million holders. (15th Anniversary cape will be more common by this rate) Of course it will be not ruin the game, you can't even say these are common if they have 5 million holders. 300 millions of Minecraft accounts aside 5 millions of Minecraft accounts. Long story short, even Migrator cape is very rare considered to how much did the game sold out. Many players even didn't claim this cape believe me. Stop being euphoric and naive.

I think it’s cool that you can get common capes nowadays, it adds a lot to your avatar, but at the same time, they’re not very impactful. However, getting a very rare cape is very impactful and cool. Capes aren’t ruined, there are just newer more common capes nowadays, and older more valuable and rare ones that are super impactful.

The reason for them giving capes more and more is likely because they don’t like the black market, and it makes sense, if I had a 100k dollars just rolling around I would buy a couple thousand dollar exclusive account if I really wanted that exclusivity, and by giving capes to everyone, you may feel that need less, along with the fact that since minecon is gone, they have to find other ways to give capes, ones that don’t seem unfair

As an 2012 OG Minecon Cape owner i can agree that the new players doenst even knew this capes or think its from Labymod or Optifine only the OGs knows the rare capes.. it was so rare back then..

I like the 15th anniversary cape, it’s a celebration of this special event for the game. But the tik tok and twitch capes just feel cheap. And the migrator cape is really just a permanent reminder on our accounts of how shitty Microsoft is and how horribly corporate the game is now.

Minecraft is now known by everyone, and I think they should make easy to obtain capes for players, since not everyone can go to a minecon, work at mojang etc. What I don't like though, is that these capes can be claimed in ONE click!

capes didnt lose any value. There are common capes that everyone can get, and there are rare capes that only a few people got.

rarity doesn't matter, one of the reasons why Mojang stop this kind of convention is because it wasn't fair for the Minecraft player base to sit there and watch others get capes but they can't, and other after another virus comes in so they're also trying to keep their consumers safe by not having them going to a overpopulated area. capes are just digital items, so rarity doesn't matter anymore.

Capes in general not being rare anymore in my opinion doesn't matter. What does matter is if mojang starts handing out the older og capes for free.
